"As the corpsman began calling for a medical evacuation, Bowers refused and kept on fighting alongside his fellow Marines." Everyone of these guys deserves the utmost respect. I haven't heard of a dishonorable or cowardly act by any Marine in Afghanistan or Iraq. Semper Fi!

I am reminded of the story about the legendary Marine Sniper, the late Carlos Hathcock where he was able to snipe an enemy marksman, just as the two sighted each other. Hathcock's round entered the VC's brain by traveling right thru the tube of the scope and into the eye of the VC.

After he was cleaned up, I knew he would be okay, but I was surprised that he didnt want to leave on a medical evacuation, said Sgt. Jung Kil Yoo, a member of 4th CAG.A good American name.

This reminds me of a friend who was in the Navy in WWII--almost took a piece of shrapnel to the heart--but his pocket Bible stopped it. He became an Anglican priest after the war.
My prayers are going up daily for the men who will be in this big fight for Fallujah. May the guardian angels watch over each and every one of them the way they watched over the fellow in this story.

A Navy corpsman removed a piece of fragmentation and applied a pressure dressing to his left cheek. If this had happened to John Fraud Kerry he would have awarded himself 30 Purple Hearts instead of a measly three.

The valor is common, but always deserving of a YOOH-YA! Every Marine article I read shows troops as cool headed, determined and selfless.

Glyn Bindon, the founder of Trijicon, used to be a co-worker of mine at Ford Motor Co. back in the '80's.
I'm sorry to learn he died in '03; he was a good engineer and a good guy.

Right on! The Almighty is watching over our marines, soldiers, sailors and airmen. I pray he will continue to do so. If we honor and obey Him, there is no force on earth that can defeat us!
