IYHO, WHAT WAS KERRY'S BIGGEST MISCALCULATION?

Clearly, the Kerry campaign machine paled next to the brilliant assault commanded by Bush and Karl Rove.
I would say the number one miscalculation was that the Kerry people severly underestimated the burning desire in the American electorate for the restoration of moral values.
It was significant---and redounded in Bush's favor---that ballot questions in 10-12 states to outlaw same sex marriages brought out committed Christians in droves.
These Christians came out to vote for traditional marriage and overwhelmingly drove the vote home for Bush.
Also significant was the Bush effect in Black churches ---normally Dim strongholds.
GWB's strong moral commitment resonated in those churches by strongly religious Black believers who wanted no truck with gay marriages. Our Black co-religionists had also been betrayed by Rev Jesse Jackson and his extra-marital fatherhood.

I agree. I stated in another post that I thought the Bush/Cheney campaign kept foolishly waiting for the media to do its job and then scambled at the end when they realized it was not going to happen. As much as I like this President, he screwed up by letting Kerry get away with the Tora Bora lie not once, not twice, but three times in three debates. Unbelieavable!
But, in the end, the President put his faith in God and that won him the election. He can stand against me when I am with God!

Kerry's biggest mistake? Insisting on polling the U.N. for approval before defending the United States.
Loyal Americans don't require nor seek others' approval before they act to do what's right.

After the dust settles a bit, it will come out that John Kerry's first discharge was a General Discharge and that his medals were revoked. The Swiftee's will finally release this information.
This will explain the discrepancy in discharge dates, re-issuance of medals, failure to sign the SF180.
Paybacks are Hell, aren't they John?

Moral values -- the SBV, same-sex marriage amendments, and Rathergate are manifestations of some very deeply held beliefs

Kerry's biggest mistake was the whole selection process for his running mate.
Not only was Edwards a mediocre pick, but that issue of floating those trial balloons and leaking rumors about John McCain was a huge blunder. It exposed Kerry as a self-admitted weak candidate -- by implying that the Democratic nominee for president needed a GOP running mate to beat Goerge W. Bush.

His biggest miscalculation will be that he has the dem party behind him if he challenges this election.
We do not need this in a time of War.

It was SBV4T that won it for WThey helped, but Rove's "get out the vote" efforts in Ohio and Florida were the key. The Republicans simply turned out in greater numbers.
