Extremists Moving Across Iran-Iraq Border

By LOUIS MEIXLER, Associated Press Writer

ANKARA, Turkey - Islamic extremists have been moving supplies and new recruits from Iran into Iraq say Iraqi Kurdish and Western officials, though it's unclear whether Tehran is covertly backing them or whether militants are simply taking advantage of the porous border.

"We are not just talking about Iranians passively dealing with al-Qaida," one former U.S. official who worked in Iraq said, speaking on condition of anonymity. "We are talking about al-Qaida at Revolutionary Guard bases and safe houses. This is active assistance."

Tanker Keeps Suez Canal Blocked (11/9/04 - Egypt)

Investigation Into Missing Propane Tanks Spurs FBI Probe (Denver, CO - 11/8/04)

POSTED: 8:53 am MST November 8, 2004 UPDATED: 9:12 am MST November 8, 2004 DENVER -- Members of the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force are alerting their counterparts across the country to check for thefts of liquid propane after dozens of cylinders were discovered missing in Denver. An investigation by 7NEWS reveals that about 100 of the 33-pound propane cylinders have been stolen since July. None of them have been recovered.

Mountain West Printing plant manager Bob Fridlund told 7NEWS that he lost seven cylinders in two different thefts, but police didn't seem concerned. Another large supplier -- Suburban Propane -- has had 34 cylinders stolen in the last 90 days.

FBI special agent Monique Kelso said the stolen propane poses a grave threat if it gets into the wrong hands. The stolen cylinders -- larger than those used for a barbecue grill -- produce propane for forklifts and other commercial uses. The propane in one cylinder can destroy a small building.

Earlier this year, the FBI said highly flammable propane was one of the very elements that terrorists have been trained to use. FBI officials are urging anyone who spots such cylinders in a place where they shouldn't be to contact their office in Denver.

MI5 Chief Warns of 'Serious Terror Threat' to Britons (11/8/04)

Britons face a “serious and sustained threat” of terror attacks at home and abroad, MI5 chief Eliza Manningham-Buller warned today.

Despite the arrest and killing of many senior al Qaida leaders, the organisation behind September 11 can still mount attacks, she said....

“There is a serious and sustained threat of terrorist attacks against UK interests at home and abroad, including against the business community,” she said.

“There might be major attacks like Madrid earlier this year. They might be on a smaller scale. “The terrorists are inventive, adaptable and patient. Their planning includes a wide range of methods to attack us.

Good Afternoon folks. Too far behind and too busy to catch up so I'm just going to throw this out here. My apologies if it has been already discussed.

Heard about an Islamic school bombing in a southern Dutch city (can't remover the name, but it started with an E). This is the latest in a series of violent incidents directed at muslims. These incidents have been triggered by the murder of Theo van Gogh, a film-maker and an outspoken critic of islam.

Here's a couple of links another FReeper was kind enough top dig up for me.

http://www.jihadwatch.org/dhimmiwatch/

Looks to me like the Dutch are starting to return the violence that muslims have started.

Theo van Gogh criticizes islam.
Theo van Gogh killed by muslims.
Dutch citizens return violence to muslims.

Methinks we could learn some things from the Dutch.

You can say that again. One more attack, especially against children, and the "authorities" will not be able to stop what will happen in this country. There are not enough of them.

I'll second that! Many ongoing world-wide conflicts in Africa, Iran, Iraq, Phillipines, Bosnia, etc.; and the one thing they all have in common is Muslim antagonists.

OBL Message Attack Correlation - 67 Days
8 Nov. 2004
POC: info@intelcenter.com
(http://www.intelcenter.com)

If during the past nearly three years (34 months) you said an al-Qaeda attack would occur within 67 days every time an Osama bin Laden audio tape or video was released, you would have been correct 80% of the time or eight out of the last 10 times messages were released.

The statistical backing for this and additional details will appear in v1.1 of the "Osama bin Laden Message Analysis & Threat Assessment" report, which is scheduled to be released within 12 hours.

What's the range of a plane like that on a tank of fuel?

I earned my private pilot's license while living in San Diego. My cross country flight in a Cessna 150 started at Brown Field (next to the Mexican border, 5 miles inland from the coast). The first stop was at Twenty-nine Palms. I refueled there and flew to Yuma, AZ for the next leg. The third leg was Yuma, AZ back Brown Field. Each leg was required to be over 100 miles. The Piper referenced in the story would have a range of 100+ miles on a single tank.

Mexicali/Calexico is south of El Centro. There are small airstrips all over the desert. I frequently stopped at the Imperial strip. There are many places to re-fuel, so the max range on a tank of gas is not a limiting factor.

IMPORTANT ALERT:

ALERT ISSUED FOR STOLEN CROP-DUSTER

The Transportation Security Administration has issued an advisory that a Piper PA 25 Pawnee crop-dusting aircraft was stolen from Ejido Queretaro, near Mexicali, Mexico, on Nov. 1.

"Although there is currently no indication that this has any connection to terrorist activity," the TSA said, "the theft is cause for concern. Past
information indicates that members of al-Qaida may have planned -- or may still be planning -- to disperse biological or chemical agents from cropdusting
aircraft."

The stolen aircraft is PLEASE NOTE:
registered in Mexico and bears the tail number XBCYP.

If you see the aircraft, the TSA says you should immediately contact the TSA General Aviation Hotline at (866) 427-3287, or contact your nearest office of the FBI.

*** Please give this information widest dissemination.

First Hizbollah ‘drone’ enters Israeli airspace

The Lebanese militant group Hizbollah announced on Sunday that it had sent its first reconnaissance drone into Israeli airspace earlier in the day, in response to repeated Israeli violations of Lebanese airspace. Hizbollah said that its military wing, the Islamic
Resistance, had sent its first-ever drone over "occupied northern Palestine, flying over several Zionist settlements, reaching the coastal settlement of Nahariya and returning safely to its base”.

Hizbollah's al-Manar TV station said the "Mirsad 1" drone had flown over Israel at a low altitude for 20 minutes, without providing further details. “Mirsad” means "observation post" in Arabic. It is believed to be the first aerial military incursion from Lebanon into
Israel since members of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine-General Command flew over the border in a hang-glider in 1987 and killed six soldiers before being shot dead. It was unclear whether the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) was a homemade, makeshift
aircraft or a commercial model, and whether it had been acquired abroad. A Hizbollah official contacted by ISN Security Watch refused to give any further details on the type or capacity of the aircraft.

The Israeli army blamed the incursion on the “support of Iran and Syria” enjoyed by Hizbollah, confirming that the UAV had penetrated Israeli airspace early on Sunday and had flown over the western Galilee. Hizbollah said it retrieved the drone safely, but Lebanese TV station LBC quoted witnesses as saying the aircraft had crashed
into the sea off the border town of Naqoura, adding that fisherman had retrieved the aircraft's remains and given them to Hizbollah fighters. The Israeli army described the flight as evidence of Lebanon's lack of control over its territory. "This incident is part of the terrorist activity carried out by the Hizbollah terrorist
organization with the support of Iran and Syria under the auspices of Lebanon, with the aim of targeting Israeli citizens," the Israeli army statement said. Hizbollah pledged more drone flights, and the group’s political bureau chief, Ibrahim Amin al-Sayyed, said his
group had more drones. It was unclear whether the drone was equipped with a camera, as the Israeli daily Ha’aretz reported, and if so, whether it was transmitting real-time images to its operators in
Lebanon. The Lebanese military said that two Israeli drones had twice violated Lebanese airspace on Sunday afternoon, reaching the coastal town of Damour, south of the capital, Beirut. Since the Israeli withdrawal from southern Lebanon in May 2000, Israeli planes have
frequently violated Lebanese airspace on reconnaissance missions, drawing anti-aircraft fire from the Lebanese army and Hizbollah.

On 29 October, Hizbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah warned that his group was adopting a new strategy to confront Israeli warplanes entering Lebanese airspace. Israel accuses Hizbollah, which is considered a “resistance group” by many Lebanese, of acquiring new,
longer-range rockets that could strike deep into Israel.

The Shi'ite party refuses to confirm or deny the missile claims, but it is known to possess thousands of 127-mm Katyusha rockets with a range of up to 27 kilometers. Military drones, such as the Hermes 450 used by the
Israeli military, have an operational range of about 200km and can reach top speeds of up to 220km per hour. Their maximum payload, depending on the type of engine used, is 150-200kg. Military UAVs have evolved from simple target drones used in air force and anti-aircraft weapons drills to sophisticated, autonomous weapons and intelligence-gathering platforms. The US military and the CIA have
made use of Predator drones equipped with Hellfire missiles to find and kill militants in Afghanistan.

Same area as the Arab-Israels were found about 6 or so months ago...leveled a reinforced concrete building

Plant Explosion Update
News Channel 11
Nov 7, 5:39 PM EST

We now know the name of the worker killed in a Tri-Cities plant explosion early yesterday morning.

Officials with Ross Prestress concrete company say 65-year old night watchman Curtis Davis was killed in the blast that leveled a reinforced concrete building, sending flames some 30-feet in the air.

Sullivan County Volunteer Fire officials say judging from the conditions they were faced with, the fact that it happened on the weekend probably saved more lives from being lost.

The exact cause of the incident is still under investigation.

Just for argument sake...

What if OBL was running out of resourse to attack the UK, US, etc...Knowing that the US is waiting for an attack after his latest video, would the video do more harm since everyone would be anticipateing an attack that may never happen. Since the 2/10 times nothing happened, we could also assumbe that OBL is loosing resourse to do his dredfull deeds. At this point in the game OBL's video may be all he has to attack the US at this time.
