Thieves swipe computers from Democrats' Toledo office

JOHN SEEWER

Associated Press

TOLEDO, Ohio - Thieves broke into the Lucas County's Democratic Party offices, taking three computers, including one belonging to a lawyer working for John Kerry's campaign, police said Tuesday.

A volunteer working for Kerry's campaign discovered the break-in Tuesday morning, said Jerry Chabler, finance chairman for the Lucas County Democratic Party.

A main computer containing the county party's financial records and other sensitive records was missing along with a computer used by campaign staff members for a county commissioner, Chabler said.

"I'm not pointing any fingers," he said. "I just hope and pray it's a third-rate burglary."

Republican and Democrat offices elsewhere in Ohio have been targets of thieves and vandals within recent months.

"We understand the passions on both sides," said Kerry campaign spokesman John Gans. "We know it's happening on both sides."

Someone smashed a window Sunday night at the Bush-Cheney offices in Canton and took off with a purse, laptop carrying case and a portable radio.

Heh. Nice.

Watch. The MSM will cover this aggressively, now that it's happened to a DEmocrat office. (I'll bet the Democrats stole it themselves, just so they could get press on it.)

Looks like the Dems needed a "Me Too" cover story.

This too funny:

"Computers stolen from Republican headquarters" DU: it was a setup by Karl Rove!

"Thieves swipe computers from Democrats' Toledo office" DU: it was goons from Karl Rove!

I think Karl Rove must be setting up quite the super-computing cluster.

Betcha dollars to donuts that if this is ever solved, it was an inside job so as to give the Dems the 'both sides do it' soundbite defense. Kinda like the 'hate crimes' committed on activists right before a hate crimes bill is up for a vote.

I hope Terri McAwful didn't hurt himself carrying all that Hardware, but he'll blame Rove, acting as a triple-agent.

The RATs are now staging attacks on their own to justify escalation of their Brownshirt tactics against the GOP...

The rats probably staged a fake burglary to take the focus off of the fact that they are the sign-stealers, campaign worker intimidators, thieves and scum.

Unless they catch the perpertrators and they admit guilt, I can only assume that this is a 'rat coverup. History is on my side.

"Betcha dollars to donuts "

Not a good deal at today's price of doughnuts at c-stores.

Sounds like a Democratic Party inside job to coincide with the letter to the AFofL CIO President to stop the attacks on Republican workers and facilities.

Appears to me this is a case of stupid illiterate union thugs mugging their own office - what the hell, any political office will do.

I agree that it was probably staged by the RATS because why would anyone want to steal the secrets to “how to lose an election”?

If towels, silverwear, and ashtrays were taken as well, check with the Clintons.

DUH! All we need to do is just watch the Seti@Home standings and whatever new team it is that suddenly starts turning in like a hundred or so packets a day, we've got Rove by the nuts! Quick, someone call up Berkeley and start checking the logs!

I think I've read too many DUmmies FUnnies, as I'm starting to be able to predict their thinking..
