There have been several "live threads" posted today regarding the debate starting early this morning. Let's make this the official thread.

kerry's little suitcase comment set himself up for some serious fact checking.
Obviously there is a parallel universe thing going here.
The optimists are in one universe and the naysayers in another.
It's hard to tell which is the real universe.
That's a problem Kerry has as well.
I think Bush had beter points, but he did NOT come across well, he looked nercvous, repeated himself many times, he started to stutter several times, lost track of words...just like I do... :)

As for Kerry, he wants to disarm America, make it impossible to have forward operating bases in the Middle East and is an admitted and proud flip flopper. Absolutely no response to Bush's constant battering of his weak kneed non leadership in the WOT.

I think the headline of this debate is:

ABsolutely, Closing comment was great. I wish we'd seen a little more of that smooth confidence throughout.
It was a tie. Slight style points to Kerry, though the podium pounding shtick is going to wear on some people.
He needed to score a decisive knockout and floor Bush. A lot of voters were watching that needed to be reassured that Bush would be calm and steady and that his convictions were firm, which was pretty much as shown tonight.
Most online sites also called it a draw, with a couple of debate style points to Kerry. But, we already knew he was supposed to be a master debater who would punch Bush's light out, which didn't happen
We need to get the transcripts and go over it.
The spin is going to begin.
