A Conservative Woman Speaks
Me

Posted on 09/16/2004 7:25:35 PM PDT by 2-in-Texas

You know, I've been a member of FR since before the 2000 election. I have not always agreed with the posts of the male-dominated membership in FR, but I have appreciated the positions of each and every one of you. But it has become very clear to me during this 2004 campaign why many women cannot embrace the conservative and/or Republican agenda. I have been since Nixon, and will remain one despite the predominance of the sexist condescension of a large group of Republican men. So let's get down to the bare bones of the situation, okay? And I really couldn't care less about the flames and insults that the lower domination of the FR membership will inflict on me for this little tirade of mine. There are so, so many women just like me who fervently believe in the ideals of the Republican and George W. Bush. We may recognize the lack of a female perspective in some issues, but we grasp the overall concept and recognize it as our own core values. We have basically learned to pick our battles. We share the views of conservative men in regards to our need for a superior military defense, a belief in the need for personal accountability and responsibility, a eff-you attitude towards our former French and Canadian and other similar so-called "allies," a need to defy the wimpy attitudes of those utopian countries who are in total denial about the condition of the world today and the necessarily severe actions necessary to ensure the survival of a righteous and moral world. We're out here, guys, and we feel just as strongly about these values as you do even if we don't feel the need to express them with your chest-beating and neverending pissing contests.

So in the midst of your extemely intelligent, compassionat idealogy, the less evolved of you start spouting your sexist and primate idealogy that becomes such a total turn-off to so many women who believe in your core values. Why do most women vote liberal? Because so many men are so busy being macho that they refus to embrace a woman's perspective on issues. You won't deter me or a very, very large group of women just like me. We are a very large and growing block of voters, and to grow that base, you need to recognize our different perspectives on the same core values. Stop pushing us away, and embrace our contributions. We are not so different, only the way God intends us to be. There's a reasons for differences, and they are for the greater good.

So hit me with your best shot. I will probably never post here again. And know this: I believe in George W. Bush, and will always be a conservative woman, although I'll probably be searching for another venue to share my beliefs.

So how come no one ever says to a woman, "You need to get in touch with your masculine side"?

That's what Harleys are for!

Ahh, so let's dismiss my comments because I didn't let some guy's idiotic sexist comment slide by without comment? Hey, if that makes it easier for you to ignore the things I said that obviously hit a nerve with you, go for it.

And who decided that a conservative woman can't have some "feminist" views? Are there some rules to be a conservative female I missed?

Well, I don't automatically assume that all men here on FR are boors. If someone DOES act boorish, I just simply set em straight, then go on my merry way. Seems to me you take things too personally rather than letting it roll off your back. You'll probably never see that person in real life anyway, so why get all hot and bothered about it?

I'm a Texas woman and I have to say, you really need to get a life! You may be from Texas, but you've seem to have never taken to heart the little maxim "you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar." Why do you care if the men are so busy being macho that they don't pay attention to little ole you? Has it ever occurred to you that many men feel they carry the weight of the world on their shoulders, protecting their wives and their families? Give them a little slack, sister! Try not to be so selfish and maybe some day a manly man will pay attention to you and think you and your brain are the best thing since sliced bread.

Go Tex! I did notice during the convention that there was definately a lack of pussy power in madison square garden and thought this might translate into more votes for lurch. I don't the the "W is for women" was a real crowd pleasing slogan there.

I don't get it. I thought we were all family here with a common goal of getting conservative principles advanced and getting the best man for America elected. That would be Bush. It is not about us but about the country.

In the 70's I read the Feminist Manifesto. I won't use the language of what they said they were going to do to the men in this world, but they have almost succeeded. Men are now made out to be dopes on TV and in commercials. They aren't supposed to have their own clubs, etc. Little boys are supposed to act like little girls.

I for one just either just laugh or ignore things I don't like on this site.

You can quit posting on this site if you want to, but don't pick up your toys and leave.

It's not about you. But as I said maybe I just don't get it.

Nobody is ignoring the things you've said, because you haven't said anything. Specifically, what behaviors, comments, or attitudes are you talking about? Just throwing some angry words together doesn't constitute an articulate argument or position.

One of my favorites:

The Truth About Men

By Tracy Byrd with Blake Shelton.

We don't like to go out shoppin',
We don't care what's on sale.
We just want to sit with a bag full of chips,
Watchin' the NFL.
When you come over at half-time,
An' say: "Does this dress fit too tight?"
We just look you in the eye with a big fat lie,
An say:"Uh, uh: Looks just right."

Well, that's the truth about men.
Yeah, that's the truth about us.
We like to hunt and golf on our days off,
Scratch, an' spit, an cuss.
It don't matter what line we hand you,
When we come draggin' in.
We ain't wrong; we ain't sorry,
An' it's probably gonna happen again.

We hate watchin' "Steel Magnolias".
We like "Rambo" an' "Die Hard 4".
Jump up and down like fools when we see the new tools,
At the Home Depot store.
We don't really wanna take you to dinner,
At some fancy restaurant.
The only reason we do is 'cause we know it leads to,
The one thing that we all want.

Well, that's the truth about men.
Yeah, that's the truth about guys.
We'd rather play guitars and work on cars,
Than work on the problems in our lives.
An' though we might say it to you,
Every now and then,
We ain't wrong; we ain't sorry,
An' it's probably gonna happen again.

Well, if you want to know what we're all thinkin',
It's nothing too complex.
It's just somethin' cold for drinkin',
And a whole lot of s-e......

Yes, that's the truth about men.
Yeah, that's the truth about us.
We like to hunt and golf an' drive around, lost,
Scratch, an' spit, an' a whole lot of other disgustin' stuff.
It don't matter what line we hand you,
When we come a-crawlin' in.
We ain't wrong; we ain't sorry,
An' it's probably gonna happen again.

We ain't wrong; we ain't sorry,
An' it's probably gonna happen;
Sure, it's gonna happen;
You know it's gonna happen again.
An' that's the truth about men.

You know it, son.

(Tell 'em how it is Tracy!)

I really don't believe that you are a regular member.

She isn't a regular. Look at her posting history. The last time she posted before yesterday was back in July. And the last time she posted before that was in November of 2003.

I wish I understood exactly what has your undies all in a wad. You've been asked to provide examples of what's got you ticked off and all I see is you being snide and putting down quite a number of the females on this board.

You do realize your rant has lost all credibility.

And if that aint enough, we also have this'n:

I'm Gonna Miss Her

By Brad Paisley

Well I love her
And I love to fish
I spend all day out on this lake
And hell is all I catch
Today she met me at the door
Said I would have to choose
If I hit that fishin’ hole today
She’d be packin’ all her things
And she’d be gone by noon

Well I’m gonna miss her
When I get home
But right now I’m on the lakeshore
And I’m sittin’ in the sun
I’m sure it’ll hit me
When I walk through that door tonight
That I’m gonna miss her
Oh, lookie here, I’ve gotta bite

Now there’s a chance that if I hurry
I could beg her to stay
But that water’s right
And the weather’s perfect
No tellin’ what I might catch today

Well I’m gonna miss her
When I get home
But right now I’m on the lakeshore
And I’m sittin’ in the sun
I’m sure it’ll hit me
When I walk through that door tonight
That I’m gonna miss her
Oh, lookie here, I’ve gotta bite

LOL. Girlfriend, I've been married to the same terrific, "manly man" for 35 years and God smiled from the heavens when he put us together. I adore him for his strength and character and masculinity, and his appreciation of women as equals. Your comments make me realize how lucky I am. I hope someday you will be as lucky.
