I just don't think Burkett would have done the actual faxing. With the cane and dog he's too easy to identify.
This was Mapes faxing to CBS or some other DNC underling and they were just using Burkett's account.
Surely Burkett knows that a Guardsman's physical is done in his birth month...
Simply put - they didn't think they'd get caught. The MSM has gone wild and unchecked for years and I believe this is why other pundits are attempting to put respectability on Rather's lying face. A facade with no depth.
Rather always wanted to get this TANG info out there. He had enough input over the years to make it seem real to him.

When someone offers you a business deal that is to good to be true as the old saying goes it probable is. This does seem way to good/easy.

~10:58pm~ EST CONCERNING BURKETT: How about an immediate search warrant for the original documents in his Baird Texas home? How about a screening of Burketts phone records to see if he did indeed call Kinkos on a regular basis? Are there any records in the books at Kinkos that link Burkett with any specific phone/fax calls to CBS? Don't you have to pay for your calls if they are long distance?
It seems to me that this looks almost too good to be true - but the real break was the Washington Post reporting that the copies came from Kinkos. And why didn't someone do that sooner...like me - duh, I could plainly see that the phone numbers were visible on the pages...

What cane and dog are you referring to? Is this Burkett guy blind or disabled? If so, he would have certainly needed "help" with this entire deal if he is the source. Get any available video surveillance tapes ASAP!
