I'm a first time poster but a long time lurker. I LOVE Free Republic. I'm just wondering if CBS is just trying to help Kerry change the focus to Bush's records instead of Kerry's. The longer the controversy continues about the memos, the longer the focus is off of Kerry. It's working! Maybe they don't care if the little people think they doctored documents as long as they accomplish their goal-protect Kerry.
With friends like that, he hardly needs enemies.
More likely to divert from 9/11 memorials ... people think about that and lean towards Bush
No.
This is damaging Kerry very badly.
Swift Vets came out with new ads today, and they are bumping up against these allegations. It is linking that Kerry is a flake and forged Bush's documents (no kidding).
so are you DU'ers working in teams today???
I've got similar lines here.

Is IAM4UK one of you're poorly cordinated buddies?
"Maybe they don't care if the little people..."
As one of the little people, where ever I go, I'm going to say, "Kerry forged those documents against the President. There's no way I'm going to vote for THAT crook." If Dan Rather can't be bothered by troublesome details, I won't bother with them either.
Buh bye.
Every time Kerry tries to get his message out, he slips in the polls. If the Dems do have an "October Surprise" they will have to keep the race within reach. I wouldn't discount any possibility with these power hungry people.(end of paranoid rant)
Aug 25th, 2004. . .
Don't worry The swifties will have plenty of time to organize this is HOT news.
Kerry who? All I am hearing about is BUSH on the news. Lies about Bush is better than BS by Kerry.
Um, how does all this attention to the forged documents shift the focus to President Bush's military records? I agree that CBS was working with the Kerry campaign to use a lie to disparage the President. But the current focus on the forgery points the look of impropriety at the Kerry campaign, because CBS is unabashedly supportive of Kerry. And that means that there's less time to scrutinize the President.
CBS intended to shift focus, but they didn't intend for a libel civil suit.
This story has grown to be more about the veracity and credibility of CBS producers than about Bush.
The CBS Producer who talked to Killian's son attended the DNC convention.
go figure.
Sign in time is GMT, as told to me by Admin.Mod. Not every Newbie is a troll.
I think they're very surprised that this backfired on them.
Comparing this issue to the Swift Boat charges is interesting.
The Swift Boat charges "stuck" despite any doubts of the particularities of the evidence, but these charges don't and so the story is the doubts of the evidence.
They both broke exactly opposite to how the media expected- wanted- them to.
Whaddaryamope? Only a dope would buy into such a mess as this to blow up in his face. Divert this.
Could well be.
But I'm praying that the populace will grow exceedingly incensed with the extreme pettiness of SKERRY'S camp and painfully aware of SKERRY'S own
MUCH MORE SERIOUS OFFENSES AND OF HIS TREASONS.
Prayer does change things.
So it's winds up that Bush gets bashed & Kerry is relatively unobserved.....and I think Dan Rather wants out at this point. He's showing the wear and tear and there are younger and better people out there. (Fox doesn't have dragged out old far**.)
Hmmm!!!! Now ain't that strange!!! Wonder where this person is....
Sorry my feelings sounded suspicious to you. I spend time every day defending Bush to the employees and college students where I work! It's always nice to come home at night and listen to some people talk who have common sense! I come here to get more ammunition for the next day. I guess that's why I said I love Free Republic.
