I tend to think Bush is better off when the race is about issues and Kerry is forced to open his mouth. But when Kerry can hide and keep the focus off of him, amazingly his numbers go up. Kerry does well when he is not seen or heard from. That is why debates will help Bush. Kerry's creepiness will be on display for the whole world to see in contrast to the likeability of the President. Bottom line, we need to get this Vietnam era crap over with. Candidates lose momentum when they appear on the defensive. We must turn the tide and control the discussion from here on out.

Candidates lose momentum when they appear on the defensive. Except Bush is not on the defensive. He's not even dignifying any of this with a response.
Besides, this is ROUND FOUR of Bush's national guard service; the public knows what Bush did and didn't do, and have made up their minds on this subject.
Bozos like Harkin and McAuliffe, with their over-the-top rhetoric, are pushing this thing into backlash-mode against the Democrats.
