Oh come,come now. CBS isn't some backwater organization. Trust me, they have protocol to verify info like this. Just a wild guess.

Frankly, I'm surprised they didn't do like ABC and consult a document expert real quick ( after seeing the doubts here and followed up elsewhere) so they could give themselves credit for doubting them.

In the first bullet where you have 1st Lt. If you change the "1" to a lower case "L" it may work better.
There is a similar issue for the "1st" on the first line. On the CBS document there is a bit more space between the 1 and the st then when typed in normal word. But if you substitute the number 1, for the lower case letter L, it looks virtually like the number 1 but their is a larger space between the 1 and the st, just like the CBS document. Try it.

It is against federal law to tamper with Air Force documents for one thing and I think a complaint should be filed with the FCC.

Rob, someone discovered earlier that the difference has to do with laser printing. They typed the doc into Word and the only thing different was the subscript. But when they PRINTED it, it changed and came out identical to CBS's copy.
Bingo...The fax header reads as follows:
"09/07/2004 09:51 12129751998 CBS NEWS PAGE 01"
Clearly, CBS News department faxed the memos to the WH on September 7 2004 at approximately 9:51 a.m.. Apparently the WH showed these copies to MSM and now the MSM disingenuously claims that the memos came from the WH. Remarkable...
They only mention Drudge by name when he is wrong.
