Brit Hume announced story coming up now on National Guard docmunents
CBS was caught trying to bring down a sitting president, in time of war. Or at least facilitating that process.
Wonder who gave the docs to CBS. Amazing and explosive story.
You have stomped the ego's of many self-proclaimed
"experts"! :-)

Who said manufacturing jobs were down in the US?
But it can't produce New Times Roman Font in "True Type", which these memos have been identified by "experts" as utilizing. "True Type" has only been used in word processing.

1004 - "But it can't produce New Times Roman Font in "True Type", which these memos have been identified by "experts" as utilizing. "True Type" has only been used in word processing. "
Ah, the great FONT WARS of the 1980's. They were quite something, which most non-geeks don't remember. And they are another place Bill Gates conquered, with Microsoft, and his blatant theft of other Fonts, using 'TrueType'
If the fonts are indeed, TrueType Fonts (slight differences so to get around copyright laws), then most certainly the documents are forgeries..
900 - "I can guarantee that the ANG would not have been getting anything updated."
I will agree with you on that. I was on active duty in the Air Force at that time, and just getting an Electric typewriter was a big thing. I remember, I pulled a number of strings to get one of my clerks an electric. He was an excellent typist (120 WPM on a manual typewriter). And he wanted to kill me - he couldn't type worth a damn on the electric. (That's when I found out he had gone to Juliard School of Music to be a concert pianist).
I had to go get the manual typewriter back to get any reports done. :o)
THat's a lot of work for a private memo.
Not that it's all that relevant in light of other facts in evidence, but the point in my #869 or whatever it was was that teh Selctric-Composer would NOT be the tool of choice, partly due to the complex rigamarole, and also due to the relatively high price of the machine.
Mrs. NavySEAL F-16 used the bottom Executive -- that's how I knew! Many of my graduate school papers were typed on that typewriter. circa: 72-73!
They ARE the same people who didn't bother to check if a Swift Boat was ever used to insert CIA men into Cambodia.
"Low-powered morons" is just about right.
"Howlin deserves the FreeRepublic Medal of Honor"
Roger, that!
**documents we are told were taken from Col. Killian's personal file.**
Another thing Fred Barnes said on Fox.
"Why would anyone have old military records like this hidden away?"
Especially if they died?
Also said that one of their staff members typed in it Microsoft Word and it was an exact image of the "supposed" memo.
Busted!
I have gone out to my tin shack and am wearing my tin-foil hat.
There goes Kerry, here comes Hillary.
I think you're right, Fresh Wind. And your explanation of how an image of a file becomes searchable for text was more articulate than mine. It's very likely that OCR was not done on the documents, and I'm pretty sure that process would not change the appearance of the document anyway. It's just a ruleout I want to see made to leave no wiggle room.
"He was brought down by typewriter evidence. . . "
hidden in Whittaker Chamber's pumpkin patch
now all we need is a pumpkin connection for this case ;)
Right. We need to focus on the next step. Criminal prosecution. And an investigation into whether there was linkage to the Kerry campaign.
It would appear that the smaller th is a differant font. Possibly a DU forgery. Or an error was corrected by tying a superscrpt th on another typewriter with a smaller font, so thay it would fit. The rest of the document only proves the CBS docs are forged. The letters are not perfectly even as some are slightly higher or lower than others. A typewriter does that, especially the well used ones on a military base, a word processer and laser printer never does that.
