Andrew Sullivan has gone into full meltdown over Zell's speech. Poor baby. Usually when he goes off the deep end I get annoyed (like his review of "The Passion"), but tonight's post-Zell rants were so far out that I was laughing while reading them.
It is not to be borne...we're mad as Zell!
Dem. punsters' bottom line tonight: Republicans are not nice; they're mean. (Implication: "WE are not mean.")
What did McCain say now?
For pete's sake, the libs' side is the one who calls Bush Hitler. You can't get much more hateful than that.
If they don't already, then they're derelict in their duties and should be fired en masse.
I have a very bad feeling..
Seen it before, it's an old dance.
Nutmeg, just when you think this convention couldn't get any better, the next night tops the last. Tomorrow will be the crescendo and if the focus group on MSNBC is any indication, GWB should fare very very well in the polls. The rats are cornered and dangerous so we shouldn't let our guards down until November 3rd.
That stupid metrosexual dolt in black glasses that CNN is using at this convention as 'comic relief' is such an annoying fool, and of course completely liberally biased.
Wow, good to see you...I'm reading the whole thread cuz I watched the speeches. My girls missed the speeches so we're watching the replays on C-span. Missed the best half of Zell's speech though, :(
Wished I taped them.
There are a lot of very conservative people in the Midwest who pull the RAT lever each election out of habit. Having a sitting Democrat Senator tell them that their party cannot be trusted to defend the country and that he is now supporting Bush will make a difference with some of the people.
In a close election like this, that alone could be enough to move some states from F'n to W.
LOL. Boy, that's exactly what I want my opponant saying about me when we've engaged in battle.
I think you may be right. I've never thought of it that way....but it makes sense.
And it accounts for the SHEER PANIC I'm watching on TV right now.
Pray for W and Our Troops
I saw McCain clapping once over a Cheney line. FWIW.
Vets being booed live on MSNBC. A guy just back from Iraq.
Please tell me your kidding.
By and large, the legacy mainstream media hated Zell's speech because it was a resounding success with undecided voters and Reagan Democrats.
Zell's speech was totally necessary. I spoke with an aide of Sen. Grassley who lamented the sorry state of the country when a party politicizes national security. Someone had to throw down the gauntlet and say enough.
None of this is gonna redound to Bush's detriment. The MSM no longer has a headlock on the American people. Good folks in OH, WI, WV, FL and PA will hear this speech and say AMEN. It's a pity you gotta live in a puss pocket like NYC. Maybe if you got outta there you'd know what it feels like to be an American!
They are broadcasting from the protest area, so that tells you all you need to know.
