That one woman is spouting DNC talking points. She's no "swing voter."

My thoughts exactly!

"Now flame away."

Thank you, I will. Reading the ratings, apparently less than 1 million people view MSNBC a night in this segment. (When Alan Keyes had his show, nightly viewer were usually somewhere between 100-200 thousand) I'm not sure what all the hand-wringing is about tonight, but I think I know.

Joe Trippi on "After Hours" with Scarborough, says in presidential elections, the undecideds usually go to the incumbant. He explains presidential elections are different than senator and governor races, where the undecided votes most often go to the newcomer, not the incumbant.

Trippi is finally telling the truth about something. Several FReepers have analyzed the past data and have come to the same conclusion.

F'n needed to have a decent lead at this point. At best, he is now tied. After the convention, it is likely W will have a lead outside the margin of error.

Kerry is in deep, deep trouble. The MSM knows it, many of the RATs know it, and that is why they are mostly hysterical.

Ed Rollins just said that Georgia was the last bastion of the Democrats and that Zell's speech tells him that "the South is ours."

Still a lot of elements to play. How hard will the hurricane blip the economy? Debates can be tricky. Will terrorists succeed in an attack? I am not convinced that a successful attack here will boost the President, some will surely say he failed, perhaps its time to give someone else a chance.

But so far so good.

I'm as conservative as they come... I'm basing my views partly on how the media have taken numerous GOP (primarily Bush) speeches and events, where all of us cheered and thought were home-runs, which, by the time the media finished spinning, were duds. SOTU is one... THe first of the weekly Iraqi speeches was another... THere are plenty of examples...

When the media starts to bombard and spin, saying he came across as nasty/vindictive/etcetcetc, the GOP will NOT fight back.

I've seen it time and again... Senior GOP leaders will sooner allow Zell to be portrayed as the (stereotypical GOP) nasty, mean-looking person... Rather than defend him, the GOP will leave him out to dry.

It's encouraging, sure, but it's such a small sample.

I'm listening to Zell again..His listing of the weapons Kerry voted against and how they have been used to fight for us is MOST effective...and proves my tagline I have had for months....

I am thrilled with the convention..It is a wonderful boost!

I just watched his speech, and I have to say that Zell Miller moved me nearly as much as Ronald Reagan.

I am in awe of what Zell Miller did tonight.

God bless him.

LOL< the dems are at wits end. The plan was to demonize Cheney as a nasty hit man but a democrat Zell Miller gave them the truth and they can't handle it. And by giving them that truth in no uncertain terms, Zell makes Cheney come off as a reasonable Grandpa who knows more about foreign policy than the Breck Girl knows about shampoo.

WIN! WIN!

Zell Miller won his senate seat in 2000 against Mattingly 57% to 39% at the same time Bush was beating Gore 55% to 43%.

Dear Norah:

I am afraid that I only heard of your remarks indirectly, through
an (admittedly conservative) website (sigh).

Is it true that you really said (please allow for paraphrase)

“the Bush people KNOW if the election was about Bush that they would lose”

If so, I believe there is a term for this activity.
Psychologists call it “projection”.

I have not heard a single national level Republican call Kerry
“Hitler”, nor say in a speech that Kerry “BETRAYED this country”,
as Democrats have said of Bush. And yet—even after some
60-70 million was spent by the likes of MoveOn.org against him—
in an attempt to make the election ‘about Bush’—the President
is pulling ahead in the polls. These polls are not falsified
votes of the homeless in Wisconsin, bought with cigarettes by
Democrat operatives; they are not multiple absentee ballots
in the Dakotas, filled out with identical handwriting by a
Democratic staffer; they are the voices of the people of the
United States. Still the strongest, richest, most beneficient
country in the history of civilization.

If your candidate cannot handle “the big leagues” of US politics
outside of his sheltered Nantucket enclave, what IS he going
to do about Al Quaeda? Send his VP overseas to SUE them?

Please, re-consider your positions. As you claim to be “open-minded”
you should be prepared to consider new evidence, or to re-weigh
long-standing beliefs. I urge you to take the opportunity to do this.

Regards.

Occasional cable news viewer.

I am also in metro NYC. and again, its not my opinion, its an observation I am making.

and that's the same observation (although for many of them, its their opinion also, they don't like Miller) that all of the talking heads are making all over the tube tonight. The "angry Miller" theme.

let me ask you - would you like to see Bush give a speech tomorrow with the same tone of Miller's speech tonight? do you think that would be a good idea, even if he spoke the absolute truth every step of the way?

anyway, I'll go back to the hurricane tracking thread now. I am confident that Bush will have a much different tone tomorrow, he has a natural grace about him that will ensure that.
