Did I hear this right on NBC News ? The Kerry people have "threatened " Bush that if he does not denounce the Swiftvets ads , that "everything" would be on the table ? ( Meaning they would start to attack Bushs military record )

Could be one you'll have a lot of use for, if things keep going the way they're going.

I bought Unfit for Command at a Barnes and Noble in Peabody, Mass. They had only a couple of them on their island of "political" books, buried in a mountain of leftist drivel, and I missed them, but a clerk showed me where they were.

But the imbalance in the books on the shelves wasn't for the reason you might think. Unfit is selling so fast they can't keep it in stock. She told me, "we have a ton of books attacking Bush but none of them are selling at all. This book on Kerry is the one that everyone wants to read." And this is in the very ventilation ducts of the Liberal Mothership.

I think that individual clerks may be letting their politics colour what they tell people. If they give you any ####, remind them that they are allegedly booksellers and you are there to buy a *&%&#$%! book.

PS: in catalogs and websites, the books that are featured are paid placements by the publishers. -C18F

there was nothing they could do it was a problem getting them from the publisher.

As you probably know, Steve, you are being BS'd here. My B&N has no trouble getting the books, just meeting the unexpected demand. Over a half a million copies of this book are in print right now.

Right on...I believe they were called "Widow Makers" apparently very twitchy to fly.

It wasn't all that bad. But any single-engine fighter of the period was risky business. I think "Widowmaker" applied more to the F-104 in NATO service.

The only allies that flew the -102 were Greece and Turkey. Under 900 total of the F-102s were built. Almost 300 of them went on to be expended as targets, so no more than 600 of them could have been losses for all reasons (including maintenance downs). About a dozen were lost in Vietnam, maybe 20 -- most in accidents or destroyed on the ground by mortars.

A pretty horrible record for today, but typical for the Century Series. Over half of 104s crashed, over half of 105s were combat losses.

In the last 35 years, that BOTOX-laden SOB hasn't taken a punch yet, and I doubt he has the balls to deliver one!
Just my opinion.

I think several were also used late in their career as stand in for Soviet fighters in dissimilar combat training.

102 and 104 both suffered greatly by use in roles they were NEVER intended to fit into.

Bring it on, Kerry! And while your at it, please release your military records to the public. Or are they going to "disappear" like some of Bush's guard service records did...

Not sure, were they going to prove he was over there comiting war crimes ? Does Kerry really want to prove that Bush was NOT killing everyone in sight in Vietnam ?
