The President spoke at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Convention at the Dr. Albert B. Sabin Cincinnati Cinergy Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. While in Ohio, he visited the museum to the Underground Highway.

The President flew to Michigan where he appeared at a campaign rally in Traverse City, Michigan. The crowd here was wildly supportive of the President, yelling out positive statements throughout his speech. (clip shown at end of Brit Hume's news hour.)

No, I don't mind you asking.

Sometimes I think it helps me to "get it off my chest" as it were.

Back in 1985, my dad was only in his early 50's, still young enough to be working, he had gotten a job hauling furniture for different places. He had gotten a big job hauling furniture to a military base in another state (I forget which one it was) It wouldv'e gotten him payed well enough to get himself out of debt once and for all.

But the night he was supposed to leave for this long trip. he was talking with some friends when it started to rain, so he went out to try to cover the furniture with tarp. he slipped and fell from the truck and hit his head severely on the side of the building and on the concrete driveway.

He was rushed to the hospital. we almost lost him then.

The doctors said that when he fell he had bruised his brain in such a way that it affected his hearing and vision.

It also brought on symptons of Altheizmres ( he has no history in his family of altheimers) but I since found out that serious head trauma can trigger it. but I think, since most doctors who've examined him insist he does not have altheiomers, he has a form of dememnia.

He's only 72.

My mom has been taking care of him, but I worry about her too. so far, thank God, she is doing okay, but the stress of trying to keep my dad from going off and getting lost or hurting himself can get to be too much.

And his short term memory is shot.

I yold my mom and my sister once that even though physically he was still here, I felt like he was gone. I miss him, how he was before.

i better quit as I am starting to tear up.

Do you think there will ever be a time that wont happen again?

That' why wheb I was reading about your mum, I could understans what you must be going through.

If there are any mispellings in this post it's because I'm starting to have trouble with seeing the keyboard.

Awww, ((((Pippin))))
You're going to get me all choked up, too!
So sorry about what happened to your dad! I can't imagine how tough that is!
If it helps to get it off your chest from time to time, I fully understand. That's why we're here :-)
I guess we all have our heartbreaks, and it's a good thing we have friends.
I'm so blessed to have a healthy family, and sometimes I don't appreciate that as much as I should...
God bless you, Pippin!

I read your post about your Mom having Alzheimers, and I am so sorry. My dear Grandmother had the beginnings of Alzheimers or Dementia, but she went to Heaven before it had a chance to get really bad.

I will add your Mom to my prayers, and you, too, that our Lord will strengthen you during this situation.

Our Merciful Lord will sustain you with His Love. God Bless you, Snugs!

Oh, sweet Pippin, bless your precious heart. You, and your Dad, and your Mom will be in my prayers. Our Merciful God sustains His beloved children through their trials with His Love and His Grace. I am going to go and pray for you and Snugs, and your afflicted loved ones, that our God will apply the Balm of Gilead, our Christ, to these hurting hearts, and will apply His Hand of Healing and Mercy, and bring His Peace and Comfort to all.
