Sounds like MY kind of sauce. I have a good friend who has lost most of his hair. We both have the same tastes in hot food. When I eat it my forehead and scalp perspire profusely. His whole head turns red. My wife just looks at the two of us and shakes her head - she'll never understand!

I suspect that good (or even decent) BBQ is just about the best "anti-depressant" for
growing up in a places that look/felt as "black and white" as "The Last Picture Show"!

Texas is also Lyle Lovett, Tanya Tucker, The Port of Houston, the Davis Mountains, the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge, the San Jacinto Monument, The Alamo, Squantos, Bela Karoli, Bum Phillips, Earl Cambell, Washington on the Brazos, Blue Bell ice cream, Longhorn cattle, Spindletop, Shiner beer. . . shall we go on?

Yes, we do. Sweatman's, in Holly Hill, South Carolina, beats any I had in North Carolina. They have the best ribs I've had anywhere (in a restaruant, that is. Best ribs of all are at my house!!)

The best all-around barbecue restaurant, in my experience, is Billy's Barbecue, in Lexington, KY. Everything is delicious there, and they do custom barbecuing for hunters. Cole slaw and fried banana peppers to die for. I used to eat there so often, they gave me free beer. When I got married, the fellow who was manager at the time, was best man at my wedding.

I watched three good friends nearly pass out from pepper overdose at a
tavern named "Blanca White's" in Matamoros, Mexico one year when we
took a long weekend trip to the southern tip of Texas to escape winter in central
OK.
Maybe I get double "karma points" for being the designated driver for
friends incapacitated by tequila AND peppers!!! (LOL!)

We were only partly successful in escaping the cold...it was even
near-freezing at our motel at Padre Island that year!

I've worked all over Oklahoma, but I've missed that place!
