NEW ORLEANS –– An explosive new study says some gay people can turn straight if they really want to.
That conclusion clashes with that of major mental health organizations, which say that sexual orientation is fixed and that so-called reparative therapy may actually be harmful.

Well put. That's why there can never, ever be a single abortion that is unacceptable or wrong. All of them have to be perfectly justifiable and even laudable--even a partial-birth abortion of a full-term baby for pure convenience. Similarly, there must never be a gay who has gone straight. Not one. Not ever.

If sexual orientation is supposedly fixed, how can bi-sexuality be explained? Are people supposedly born bi-sexual?
No known research supports this. Federal funded DNA studies at John Hopkins, Emory and UCLA over a ten year period have failed to prove that someone can be born an alcoholic or drug addict. After millions of wasted tax-$$$... self-help organizations like AA and CA must now admit that alcoholism and drug addiction are SELF INFLICTED diseases. With present day technology… it is not possible to do research that would support your belief. All homosexual behavior is simply deviate sexual behavior... a choice.

What is it with all this gay activism, "news."? I wish it would dry up and go away. It really is pathetic that 2% of the population get 90% of air time. Let these people push fudge and split hairs all they want. I really don't want to know about their "lifestyle;" nor do my wife and children. It's SICK when your children ask about gays and lesbians; and parents are supposed to explain this crap?

I too have been exposed to lots of gays, because of the area of Houston I have grown up in. I’m not sure about the born gay part, because I don’t know about the gene part. I will say however when I was a lad the rest of us knew something wasn’t right about my cousin Franklin who lived in Fort Worth ever since we were tiny. The boy was a sissy.
He became a professor at Texas A&M, had three kids, left his family for one of his male students, and died of aids.
As far as your other two conclusions, I concur. I can’t count the times I’ve met some ugly ass girl, and remarked it’s a good thing she is gay. The gay culture is probably one she is accepted in. I also think some do it just to stand out.
Thank you. I worked with a lot of gays due to a sideline music career in my 20s. The reason that so many gay men are very attractive men was because they were very attractive boys. Virtually every gay I've met had a horror story for a childhood.I'm not condoning the behavior -- it's a terrible and destructive lifestyle -- so no lectures, please. Telling them that "God hates fags" is not the answer.
Explosive is not a stong enough word.
It is devastating to their "world view" that it is a orientation which they have no control.
Provable, experimentally repeatable results which have sexual behavior as mutable back to normal conduct means there is no reason to have homosexual marriages. There is 100% reason to prohibit homosexuals from adoption or even child custody.
Of course there are countles empiricle studies which sexual behavior reverting back from homosexual to normal based on studies of the sexual conduct of long term prisoners.
ALL the studies which were supposed to point to a fictional homosexual gene have be unrepeatable and put into disrepute.
Should such studies continue to build evidence, the homosexual loby will just change their tactic and say it is just a matter of choice. They will then compare themselves to the abortion movement. The homosexual lobby will not give up their fetish without a fight.

Homosexuality is just like ADD and Depression, as in we choose to not pay attention and we choose to not be happy, yet doctors try to say that we are born that way.
I was diagnosed with both ADD and depression and had to take medication to "help me" but it didn't work and in some cases the medication hurt me, so I choose to pay attention in school and be happy and it worked.
The human genome was sequenced what, 5 years ago? Pointing to a few years of studies in a field as fast-changing as genetics as somehow proving a negative is ridiculous.
If you look at the article, phone surveys of a small self-selected group of people "proving" that homosexuality is "curable" is also a stretch.
