Congressman: Al Qaeda entering southern border and changing names to Mexican surnames
KFI 640 Radio Los Angeles | 7.16.04 | Joe Hadenuf

Posted on 07/16/2004 5:34:53 PM PDT by Joe Hadenuf

Congressman John Culverson just stated he has just received informantion from Southern District U.S. Attorney Michael Shelby (Texas)that Al Quida members have been entering from our southern border and have been entering through Texas and blending into towns....He stated this was classified and he given the OK to release this information.

The congressman may be a former congress memeber, I didn't hear his complete title. He is on KFI Los Angeles now.

Why would terrorists risk life and limb crossing the Rio Grande or going through dessert areas when they can fly into NYC or Boston on a commercial jet and then move on to whatever destination they choose.

I'm guessing, that by your statement, you don't believe our international customs through Airports are any more secure now than they were before 9-11, is that correct?

Well if that's true, then your premise would be valid, because it's not like we had a huge "terrorist watch list" before 9-11.

But in theory, we do now have a huge terrorist watch list at our official airport entry points and hopefully also at our official Canadian and Mexician points of entry (official border crossing points). And if we do, it's possible that a good number of these terrorists or terrorist-wannabes couldn't make it through our official points of entry.

In addition to that, it's possible the terrorists don't want to risk being tracked if they come in via the official points of entry. Aren't we fingerprinting and photographing all foreigners who come in through airports now? Perhaps they are worried about that.

I know if I were going to try to get into Iraq to go pick off a few terrorists, I wouldn't announce myself through official channels. I'd go to a neighboring country and walk in through the desert (so to speak).

I think you're applying too much law-abiding and rational thought to the terrorist mindset. But that's just my opinion, of course.

BTW, Joe didn't start a thread yesterday when John & Ken were "criticizing" Baca, hmmmm.

Thanks God. Are we finally going to stop hearing you ramble on about John & Ken at least? Boxer and Feinstein suck, BTW.

He may not understand, they already did that once, hence much improved security. He also may not understand that trucks with unknown loads enter this country daily from Mexico. They actually find some of them in places like Ca, Arizona, and Texas with 150 illegals packed into them. I am confident, knowledge of these major security breeches are well known to the terrorist.

If I were a Mid Eastern terrorist, the last place I'd want to be is at an American airport, where everyone in the terminal would be gawking, and staring holes through you.

Keep an eye on those fastfood restaurants that either don't serve pork...or serve very little.

Hmmmm. Now that would be a good experiment. Do legitimate Mexican restaurants serve Pork dishes? If so, then every Freeper should go into their nearest Mexican restaurant and order a dish with PORK in it. Any restaurant that doesn't serve pork should be reported to the FBI. Can you imagine?

Freeper: "Hi, FBI? I want to report a Mexican restaurant that doesn't serve pork."

FBI: "Huh? This is the FBI. I think you may want the Department of Health, or the Department of Ag, or the Food Industry Association."

Freeper: "No, I want the FBI !! Dang it, there is NO PORK at El Casa Del Sol down on 5th Street! Don't you understand??!!"

FBI: "Oh, ok, now I understand. Please remain calm, someone will be there to help you shortly." (covers phone, says to agent next to him, "Send the looney bin truck out to this address, I've got a live one.")

For you “Doubting Thomas’s” I went back and found the relevant posts that back up the Representative’s assertion and demonstrate ease of terrorist infiltration. Many folks missed a step believing that the bad guys are trying to pass themselves off as Mexicans after they get here. The way I read it they are infiltrating communities while retaining their cover names for convenience.

How many miles long is the US / Mexican border?

Let's post a Citizen Volunteer every 1/8 mile
4 hour shifts
2 shifts per week

How many Citizen Volunteers would it take to cover the border?

Plus a few dozen organizing and scheduling the Volunteers.

We could set up a non-profit organization that Americans could donate money to, to pay for expenses, like gasoline and bullets (and shovels to bury the evidence). ;-)

And every Volunteer receives a bonus of $100 for every terrorist they take out. (Have to submit right index finger of terrorist to receive bonus - wouldn't want any cheaters, would we?)

I'll serve my time on the line, and I'll donate my money to the cause. Anyone else??

My contention, is that Joe does not want any mention of Joe Baca(D-Ca) and his policies on FR and directs his animus towards the Bush administration, and you txdoda, lick it up like a kitty does a saucerful of milk, IMO.

The 2 things that I'm the least surprised about having happened today are:

1. The sun rose in the East

2. You posted a comment on Free Republic that made a reference to Joe Baca.

They pulled off 911 almost flawlessly

This is a good point. On one hand, they were astute enough to find and take advantage of some of our weaknesses. On the other hand I think it was an easy operation for them to accomplish.

The tangos of 9/11 conducted this operation without hardship. They walked through our ports of entry and lived in comfort. They planned and prepared free from scrutiny. Despite the hightened security it is still relatively easy to bypass border security. Yet the tangos can't handle it. IMO, if they had any tactical or strategic competence there would have been more attacks all over America.

My take is they want to hit us *hard*. I don't think they are interested just numerous multiple little hits.

Using 911 as their MO, I'd say they have a big appetite for cataclysmic, brutal, economic killing, front page surprise operation's, where *many* thousands are killed.

Remember watching 911? It was like watching a Superman movie where the bad guys were actually knocking down huge skyscrapers. I don't think these guys think in quantity, as much as quality.....They know they have to make their hits count.

It's not surprising that any article on illegal immigration has to turn into a Pity Party on race, which is really the whole motivating factor of these threads - not the rule of law, and not the thwarting of terrorism.

Oh no! Cultural Jihad's PC feelings are hurt! How dare we complain about his precious illegal alien lawbreaker buddies. Cultural Jihad, you seem to always be prepared to paint the rest of us with your extra wide racism brush if we dare to speak out against illegal immigration in any way. So, do you really think that our complaints about ILLEGAL immigration have absolutely nothing to do with the rule of law? Uh huh, right, whatever you say.

But that's no reason for Bush and his followers in Congress to continue to throw open the gates to illegals.

On top of that there is no way the illegal Mexicans are going to rat out one of these Islamowhacks. Who would they tell....the INS?

They wouldn't even have to "swim" the border as some have suggested. Under NAFTA, trucks can drive all the way into the country, and NO they won't all be inspected. Remember these terrorists have money, unlike Mexicans.

You know it has. If they can bring in *tons* of drugs, millions of illegals, God only knows what else has already crossed in.

Thank you Nafta, democrats and republicans!

Be careful, BagCamAddict, I made a proposition like that once and five thousand people showed up.

You bet. These are the same folks who drive in truck fulls of drugs for $200. bucks....I just wonder, how many have been actually assisting them for small time bribes...
