Good representation of Dim party voters, one appears to be alive, the other dead.

Trying to court the Southern vote even though Edwards has never done anything in Congress, has no track record on governance, no military anything, and nothing to commend him but a lawyers tongue.

Well that's a bad choice for America. The guy has *no* experience. He's still in his first Senate term. They're both from the Senate, in fact. It's as East Coast as you can get short of picking Hillary.

A trial lawyer on the Dem ticket? For crying out loud. They really do want to lose this thing, don't they?

It is just me or is this the biggest anti-climax in presidential politics in memory? Zzzz.

I love both Cheneys, but saw him speak twice recently, once from front row.

He looks VERY tired.

The Gephardt announcement in the NYPost was naturally a misdirection. Foul ball as it were. I chased after it, I will admit. :)

"Big deal, Edwards is a loser too, let's break out all the negative comments he made about Kerry during the primaries...a flop-flip and a flip-flop."

That's a good point. Does anyone know here how precedented this is? Meaning, how often a veep candidate was an opponent during that party's primary? I don't -think- it's happened in my lifetime. And as GRRRRR points out, it's got some definite disadvantages - plenty of criticisms between the two on the record. Imagine if in 2000, Bush had picked McCain as his veep! The Dems would've had a field-day trotting out and parsing every last bad word they'd ever said about each other. Of course, the two toilets, I mean John's, will be treated as if they were and have always been Vietnam vets from the same PT-boat... wait, no, scratch that too...

Two Senators at that.

Kennedy and Johnson did it.

Well, DU is down, just in time for the big announcement, so.....

Anyone taking bets to see if Kerry will actually show up to vote in the election?

Actually, I think this was probably the best pick Kerry could have made. Gephardt is a loser and can't deliver his own state, Vilsack is unpopular in his own state and is unknown nationwide, Graham is weird.

The fact is that the Democrats have a short bench.

Someone should ask Jean how many others, besides McCain, turned him down before he settled for Edwards...

Is Cheney toast? I keep hearing rumors...

The campaign is selling Bush-Cheney 2004 materials. Draw your own conclusion.
