NBC breaking says for sure it's Edwards for veep
Bumpity, bump, bump!
I'm trying to wipe a picture of a gadfly like Nader enjoying a bubbly first thing in the morning.
And watch the Dems spin this as Corporate America (BUSH) versus the little guy being protected by their knight in shining shampoo (EDWARDS). Makes me wonder how Ter-EZZ-Zah Heinz likes the lawyer on the ticket.
EDWARDS: I took this responsibility very seriously. I said that it was critical that this not be done by America alone, that it not be an American operation, and now this is not internationalized. For the most part, it's America doing it alone, which I believe is an enormous mistake.
Stuck right up the UN's butt is dear Johnny. Yup, real #2 material there.
BTW, Johnny, what are all those other nations allied in the War on Terror with us? Window dressing...?
Are there any by-laws in the gated Figure 8 Island homeowners' manual regarding an avalance of outsiders...i.e. camera crews...coming on the premises?
That's not so stupid. Stupid is when you're in a debate and you say "Poland is a free country" while it's still under Soviet rule. That's not what Gerry Ford meant, but that's what he said. Edwards will do fine in the debates, but he won't help Kerry much in the heartland of America. Edwards is a slick-talking, rich trial lawyer and that fact will turn off a lot of people in the "red states."
It's so easy with Kerry! Of course, only Kerry would think the knight in shining shampoo would save his campaign.
Yes, I think Bush may have to make a move to counteract the Edwards pick. IIRC, Edwards had a respectable showing in the Ohio primary last March, even though Kerry had the nomination all but wrapped up. The Edwards selection will give Kerry a boost in Ohio, and it will be interesting to see if Bush makes a change. As much as I like Dick Cheney as a VP, he has been so demonized by the media that I believe a change (to McCain, Rice, or Guilani) may be needed, or Bush could lose this election.
Define "some time". Well, the presumptive (it's 8 o'clock and like the typical RATs, they're late; so it ain't official yet) pick is having the intended effect on the markets (goin' down, down down down!)
Do we now refer to the Dem Ticket as
Flipper and Fleeceum
So the Kerry camp hosed the NYPost with the Gephardt news and Drudge last night with the Bayh rumor. How would you like to be the editor of the Post today? Or the source of the story?
I think you have a very good point.
So the Bush/Cheney web site has as suggested reading, in the number 1 spot, Kerry's book about crime. Here's what Amazon.com says:
In a cursory overview of international crime, Senator Kerry (D-Mass.) implausibly calls for foreign criminal law to be imported into the United States to prosecute nationals of other countries who plan crimes here then conduct them abroad. His rationale is that weak or corrupt countries cannot effectively prosecute crimes committed within their jurisdictions. At the same time, he suggests that crimes committed against Americans abroad be prosecuted here in "special courts." He also calls for transnational asset forfeiture, in which victimized countries would share in the forfeiture of assets seized in cooperating jurisdictions. While well intentioned, the book is short on specifics and contains no revelations about international crime
My foot..!!
McCain may as well...be a Democrat..!!
Besides being a loon..!!
FWIW-
Now, that is something to worry about!
Ketchup spewing on stage now
