(CBS 5 News)--The man called the greatest actor of all time has died.
CBS 5 News has learned Marlon Brando passed away Thursday in Los Angeles.
Brando may be best known for his roles in "The Godfather" and "On the Waterfront". He won oscars for his work in those 2 films.
The cause of death is still unknown.

TV people get stories because someone calls them. If you know the person in the right place at the right time, ?...
You know that the networks have these items made up in advance so they can post them more quickly when the actual day arrives? This may have been a goof by somebody.
There was a case a year or two back when the death of a celebrity was inadvertantly reported-can't remember who, Reagan maybe??-and it turned out that some technician had pressed the wrong button.

He went off on everybody and was grabbing King's finger and then giving King the finger - classic.
This is taking too long to be real. Expect the usual "... reports of my demise have been greatly exaggerated" denial.
Networks have obituaries and such ready to go so they can post them more quickly. This is a 3 sentence article telling us that he died, not his obit. Doubtful that this was made up early.
Here's one modern important example: Katzenberg, Geffen and Spielberg.
Now, I am not sure why my co-religionists get so upset when these facts are brought up. We Jews do ourselves no good by denying reality and then getting an attitude about it. My answer is that Jews must have the unique combination of talent and inclinations to be successful at making movies. Genes? Environment? Combination of both? Hebrew school? Who knows? But it is what it is.
He did a superb job in Shakespeare's "Julius Caesar." The whole film is absolutely riveting and his performance stands out.
I wonder how Foxman reacted to Jackie Mason, the Jewish comedian, who supports the notion that Jews own Hollywood. A few years ago, Mason reminded us it was Jews who had recently immigrated from eastern Europe at the beginning of the last century who created a film industry in Hollywood. According to Mason, the Jews now own about 60 percent of the movie business, down from the early days. So what says Mason if Jews own most of the film business. What's the big deal.
Still nothing on Drudge, Fox, CNN, or ABC. I strongly suspect that somebody goofed.
