DUBAI : An Islamist website showed Paul Johnson, the US national taken hostage by Al-Qaeda gunmen in Saudi Arabia, beheaded and his head then placed on his back.

The site carried three pictures and a statement announcing his execution.

A US embassy spokesman in Riyadh said only: "we're aware of the report."

"Al-Qaeda in the Arabian peninsula" had posted a video on a website Tuesday night threatening to kill Johnson, a 49-year-old aeronautics engineer, unless the Saudi government freed detained militants within 72 hours.

The media wants to "protect us." I have no idea why.
They only want to "protect us" when it serves their leftist agenda; they know that showing videotape of Americans getting beheaded and/or jumping out of the WTC with babies in their arms inspires feelings of nationalism, which almost always plays into the GOP's favor. That's why they do their best to avoid showing them. On the other hand, airing countless photos of Americans as perpetrators - ie, the Abu Ghraib "scandal" - serves their purposes to a tee.


I totally agree. Showing Americans reality of how the enemy operates might have the effect of galvanizing us to support this war.

I am going to be calling and emailing all the major media outlets - including Fox and demanding they show these "gruesome" facts of reality.

The news just said that he was an islamic convert. It looks like is wife is islamic.
This may be one of the reason that Saudi's are actually demanding that their govt. oust an al qaeda group. Their will be some blowback on al qaedsa for killing a muslim.
While we are talking about this. It is important to point out that Bin Laden has pubicly released statements saying that he wants to overthrow the Saudi Royal family.
This should light a fire under the burkas and get them to go after terrorists in harder fashion.

I have watched the Nick Berg Video. I hated IT.. Being Retired Military, I have seen a few things, most won't see in their life. I hate to say this...

The media didn't used to censor everything. They all wanted to be first to show us the truth. Not any more. I'm outraged that they even put a NASCAR race on a 7 second delay. Can you believe it??

I looked at the Daniel Pearl video when that happened. I saw the Nick Berg photos. I'll look at these too, as soon as I can steel myself a bit.

Where are the darn photos from the WTC? The ones of broken and torn bodies? Why are we being treated like children?

We had better face up to the reality of this enemy or we're sunk.
