In grandmother's day white was full mourning for summer. A lot of that has changed with air conditioning. Used to be that you went to other colors at stated times.

How wonderful...that a public school would watch....I suggested to my grandson last night that he stay home from school (he's 10) to watch.....I doubt his Mom would do it, but doubt my grandson will ever forget his bamma suggested he skip school for "history."

Seating is determined by the protocol office. I wasn't talking about seating. I was talking about greeting.
The elder Bushes greeted a number of people as the were sitting down. The Clintons were close enought to have been greeted, but they weren't.

White is the color or Resurrection. Catholic priests wear white vestments at the funeral Masses I have been to. The first one that I attended was in 1984. It was started as a celebration of life and not the usual mourning in death.
