I've always been impressed with the soldiers at funerals. From the first time as a little child when I heard taps and the rifle salute at my uncle Bob's funeral in Muscatine Iowa until today.

About time! He's impressed me so much this week with his dignity, his love for his siblings and stepmother, and his reverence for his father. There have been times this week when I may not have understood how he's been treated, but he appears to be above it.

Yes, he graduated from Harvard and is an Army Ranger. I guess his parents were unable to brainwash him. Just another Alex Keaton! I only hope that they are as proud of him as the Freepers are.

Yes, I agree lighten up about the talk about Clintons. If they did not look weird,and everyone else look normal,very little would be said. I think there was a lot less said about them than could have been. Lots of people are not at home watching,they like the colorful descriptions as they are reading on-line. That is a nice function of these threads.

Thanks, I hadn't known that Brady continued to be listed as the press secretary. No doubt Ronald Reagan had more class and dignity than the media will ever acknowledge.

Yes, it was nice listening to them. People have been commenting on the similarities between Reagan and our present President. I got something in email yesterday. It was some of President Reagan's quotes. In reading them, most are just as appropriate today as they were when Reagan said them and quite a few 'could' have been said or repeated by our present President.

My son was a solder, I guess once a soldier always a soldier, but he was chosen for ceremonial detail.........he doesn't mention the funerals but did tell us about the weddings. Very exciting to hear about and how uplifting for those present.

Well, since he once joked about lying down on his gravesite while visiting it, I just presume it would be a grave.

I heard a reporter mention a 'crypt' which is a "Chamber partly or wholly underground". So, we shall see.

Interesting to see Tony Blair in attendance, while back home his Labor party has taken a licking in the elections. A man of conviction, thank God. He didn't cut and run. Adn I think that's why Laura Bush stopped to squeeze his shoulder as they came into the cathedral.
