It doesn't surprise me in the least.
I would think if President Bush came the nightmare for security with him standing on the tarmac for any length of time. But, I also think the President knows it's not about him -- he doesn't ingratiate himself where he doesn't belong, unlike some others whose names shall not be spoken here.

I felt sadness but a sense of joy, as the plane disappeared into the clouds and sky.
The last time I saw a plane go into the clouds, I was happy, too, but for a different reason ------it was when Clinton left DC on his way to oblivion. Seeing His Nothingness disappear was total joy.

I think it's possible Bill and Hillary planned to "fall asleep" as they knew they would be watched. It does seem odd for both of them to do the same thing as if on cue.

Even though it is automated, at a Jewish funeral the mourners are there as it is lowered. What a sight of finality it is. Closest family members actually add a symbolic shovelful of earth over the casket as well.
Well, I said to others who were defending Kerry's going to Simi Valley to pay his respects...that if he showed up at the church service, then his appearance at the library was all for the cameras. Kerry is a slug.
