LIVE THREAD--Reagan State Funeral Ceremony: Lying in State at the Rotunda (6/11/04)
Who is that, that the Toon is introducing him to? Do you know?
That's right, I had forgotten about Shaw hiding under the desk... :)
I KNOW! That means they were pretty good friends. Interesting. I'm going to try to make sure I heard correctly.
Perhaps you can clear something up. My better half says that the Clinton's divorced shortly after they left the WH. I say they did not.
To your knowledge did they divorce?
The sunset out there tonight should be beautiful..
I wish I had been there for Judy Woodruff's little "Oh, if we had only known Reagan was a nice guy" dance over dog poo.
I would have said, through tears, "Yes. And he endured it all from you. Every single day for more than eight years. Other than a harmless joke or two at your expense, he just did what he had to do NO MATTER HOW YOU TRASHED HIM, DAILY.
If anyone DARED to insult any of you weak-spined talking heads, you'd sink to a puddle on the floor!
But while you dumped poop all over him every chance you could, he managed to turn around our economy, make this country feel great again, and save the world from communism. You were there, yes, but all his achievements were done IN SPITE OF YOU, not with your help. Get your (rear) in shape now, because you are doing the same to ANOTHER great President, you (rears)!!!"
Andrea Mitchell has been a
classless disgrace all week.
i still say that she has a lot of faith or she would not have stood by her husband through his presidency, let alone the Alheizmer years.
Also if these services are any indication and you watched her body language, the mentioning of God and her husband brought 'near' smiles.
Thirdly, a man and woman joined together in matrimony need to have the third person of that relationship there all the time -- that third person is God. I really do think that God blessed both of them with belief.
She differed from her husband on several issues, but she has a belief in God.
He also mentioned Kirk Douglas, Tom Selleck and some other folks as well who have been invited.
You know, all week, watching this marvelous pagentry, I only had one negative thought.. Just now, seeking the planer take off, I realized that in about 20 years, when the Presidential fleet nears the end of its useful life, the USAF will have to place an order for Airbus 380's....because Boeing screwed up...
Leftists are so desperate to rewrite every aspect of Reagan's history they are now retroactively downgrading Warner Bros. in the 30's and 40's to B status? Jack L. Warner would have their guts for garters.
K, so the F-15 is out of Seymour and the AF One is out of Andrews. (I knew the last one...my question was directed at the F-15)
Thanks all
"Thanks. I am always too afraid to ask - afraid I will show my ignorance!"
Anytime. That's what I'm here for. :)
I saw Joan Rivers in line at the Rotunda the other night. No fanfare. She was there to pay her respects.
Yes, I think you're right. A very personal service.
Clinton managed to get himself featured today, although I don't begrudge his being exposed for the rude trash that he is. Goes double for his spouse.
High Five!
WTG, gal pal.
Make no mistake the Clintons were mocking President Bush
****
Let's turn it around and say that they were hiding their eyes in fear from the Light of Truth.
I haven't a clue--and seriously doubt I will spend any time researching the subject. ;o)
