Now, as much as I don't care for the Clintons and their grew, one of the pictures further up the thread shows that the people on the row behind President and Mrs. Ford - TWO ROWS behind the Clintons - also have their heads bowed at that moment.

I don't doubt for one minute that both President Clinton and his wife were like fish out of water at the funeral, but let's keep things in context.

BTW, who really cares what they were doing? I was focusing on the tributes to President Reagan.

I don't know what Geyer's deal is, but she's touted as a conservative columnist, yet she wrote this in her most recent column:

Many eloquent words were spoken this week at the D-Day celebrations. A hopeful U.S.-British resolution outlining the political future of Iraq was passed unanimously in the United Nations, perhaps signaling a new day for that beleaguered country. And praise for the departed Ronald Reagan reminded Americans that it can again be "morning in America." But the words that will characterize this historic week, unfortunately, will be the fiercely angry ones of Democratic Sen. Joseph Biden. His teeth were clenched, his eyes filled with rage, when he addressed Attorney General John Ashcroft on the question of whether the Bush administration had even indirectly sanctioned the torture of prisoners in the war on terrorism.

What planet is she residing on, that these were the most important words uttered this week?

No... the entire ceremony has been dignified and beautiful. I guess the Clintons seemed to fall asleep but you might catch that on a different thread here. I'd recommend you go over the comments, it's a great read.

Yes, Nancy's goodbye wave was very moving. Many in the crowd in tears...typing through misty eyes.

Who were all the people under the plane who were greeting Nancy? It looked like they were being introduced, hadn't known each other before this time.

Continuing to complain about it isn't really better... people are just commenting, making their thoughts known. Clintons don't rule anything.

I think I saw somewhere that Patty Duke (former SAG president) came as well as Bruce Boxleitner, (Melissa Gilbert's husband, current SAG president) whom I saw with Morgan Fairchild.

He isn't on the radio in Phoenix but he's a wonderful radio guy. I know, he makes me want to cry too, but then everything does.

She made it. I was fearful as she walked towards Airforce One her legs almost seemed to be giving out. I'm sure Ronnie gave her the strength to make it.

I'm amazed at what a strong woman Margaret Thatcher is. Walked out of the church with no assistance, then up the stair. Got to be tough for her as well as Nancy.

And, C-SPAN did NOT take any calls during the service. We mostly watched them then channel surfed during the ride to the airport
