Who is the gray headed man behind Mrs. Reagan? He's part of the family.Thought it may be President Reagan's brother. Strange, how the gentleman looks like Michael Reagan. Michael must have taken on the characteristics of the Reagan family.

"but President Reagan would tell us we were wrong. :)" Yes, I will miss his forever optimistic outlook the most.

What is the name of this piece of music? It is haunting.Exactly, and perfect for such a great man. I always thought Princess Diana's funeral had the most beautiful music, but today's equaled hers. I have got to find that song!

"The entire ceremony, beginning in California through today has been magnificent, and appropriate."
"How symbolic too that it is spanning the whole breadth of the country."
Yep. Funny how the media won't state the obvious, that at this moment the entire country is united once again, isn't it?

(Libs, want answers on 911? Ask Clinton why he met with Monica more than with his CIA director.)
And now he goes home. Miles to go before he sleeps.

have heard that c-span had calls during the service I've been on CSPAN for a couple hours. Seems to be a raw feed. No commentators, that's for sure.

Agreed. A live thread is exactly that. It's not a memorial thread. This is a "Oh my God, did you see that?!" thread. Disagree.
I was taught that there is a time and a place for everything.
Uh, what is a "memorial thread" anyway?

"I cannot imagine that it was intentional. He is western educated and not a Islamist."
wirestripper, I hope you are right. It really is an arab-culture thing, not a islam-religious thing. I lived in Iran for a few years (many years ago), and before leaving the states was given a class on what not to do. I will never forget the emphasis placed on never showing the bottom of your shoe to someone. And as I said, it has nothing to do with Islam. Even a western-educated mid-eastern person would not do it. I'm not convinced it wasn't deliberate and done as a subtle message ('I'm here with them, but here is my real opinion').
I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think so. In any case, the service was beautiful.

(I can only appreciate Reagan in retrospect because I was a brainwashed democrat back then. Sigh.)
