June 10, 2004 -- NOW is a good time to look back at the landslide win that sent Ronald Reagan to the White House in 1980, because lots of analysts think 2004 could turn out the same way close for a long time and then suddenly breaking wide open. In 1980, the break came just days before the vote, when Democrat Jimmy Carter finally agreed to debate. Reagan came off as sunny instead of scary and when he admonished Carter with a smile, "There you go again," it was all over.Like President Bush, Carter faced voters nervous over both the economy and foreign policy and wondering whether it's time for a change in Carter's case, skyrocketing inflation at home plus the endless Iran hostage crisis.
But there's a big difference, since Carter kept getting bad news on both fronts, while Bush is starting to get good news on both the economy, with a surge in new jobs, and Iraq, with international support for the June 30 transfer of power.

NOT sort of like America. Americans trust one another sufficiently to be able to carry on business with each other. The exceptions are exceptions and as America moves farther from its religious roots more and more laws are, in fact, required.Atheism can be the foundation os anarchy and of totalitarianism. The one is shortlived if workable at all and the other will not advance economically.
There were still many, many instances of Democrat voter fraud. I think it's a litle blasphemous to claim the God gets involved in electoral politics.
God has blessed this country in times of need with the right leaders at the right time.
Explain 8 years of Clinton, then. No, we can't blame or praise God for the governments we get. At the end of the day, we are fully responsible for our leaders.
That seems a static view of a stratified society with no mobiity. The problem is the wealth of the society. Where the poor are truly poor they do not vote much. Where the poor are actually a leisure class they are more susceptible to being used for their votes and more apt to try to vote themselces a living.
I never said I was Union, that was your assumption. However, this is the only thing in your post that is correct. It is worse than that, I am the president of a union local. I guess I am damned for sure now.
"You're a Socialist."
You are so very wrong, and &#$^ ignorant for making this statement.
"I hear this from every self-righteous paleo-FReeper in this forum. Parroting others, and activating a sleeper account, is not the way to establish a bona fides."
Ignorance is bliss I guess
"Oh, concern for the middle class is your primary concern?? Sounds more like keeping your tenure and your taxpayer-funded pension is."
There is no tenure in government service, nor any other kind of job security. As for "taxpayer-funded pension", I am in the FERS retirement plan, which is mostly dependant on social security like everyone else. Payments I make into the pention plan goes mostly to pay for those that are already retired. The only retirement plan we have is a 401K that is also available to almost everyone.
"No one makes you vote. There is no gun to your head making you vote."
Unless you and those like you have managed to repeal the Constitution while I had my back turned, voting is my right as an American. If I do not like who is is in office, it is my right, nay my responsibility to cast my vote to replace him. Would you and you Gestapo friends deny me my rights? Don't bother responding, I am a Virginian, I suggest you read the speeches of Patrick Henry.

I steadfastly believe that if the Republicans closely scrutinize the voting process in the inner cities and heavy union stronghold districts, they will pick up a gain of between 1-2 percent in vote totals.
Some precincts in heavily Democratic cities like Philadelphia and Detroit apparently have no Republican oversight.
Do I believe Democrat poll captains would fudge the tally in the critical watchdog minutes just after polls close at 8 p.m. (or whatever time)??
You're better believe it. In fact I truly believe that many on the left are so dogmatically partisan they would vote Dem even if that candidate was an avowed enemy of the US.
Hmmm.....
No really, I already wrote to Carl Rove and begged him to hire poll watchers in inner cities to keep an eye out.
I seem to remember newspaper articles following the 2000 race saying that 100 percent of the electorate had voted Democratic in various districts in Philadelphia.
i firmly believe there is a part of all of us that somehow screws up on purpose for reasons i cannot imagine -- i'm sure it has happened to most of us at one time or another.
self-guilt and a lot of stupid behaviour is a direct outcome of this, and the demonrats and many America haters have a really bad case of it...
You said:
"It speaks to man's natural state of freedom, which came before society, government, and the unnatural burden which they create."
And, pray tell, what is this mythical noble savage existence you speak of? Would it be like (pre British influence) Aboriginals in Australia naked in the bush, never bathing their entire lives and eating witchety grubs, live or cooked?
Or would it be New Guinea aboriginals, ditto about naked and unwashed (except the men wear those interesting leaf genital wrappers), with women doing every stroke of work besides the ritual pigkilling to deflect the witch craft, fear of which permeates their every waking minute? Would this freedom include their unique habit of chopping of a woman's finger every time a relative dies, so the old ladies (should they live that long) often have one or two fingers left, while they struggle growing sweet potatoes?
What about the men's almost universal practice of sodomizing the young boys as a ritual practice, and eating the brains of the deceased? (Practices now hopefully curtailed.)
Are these the kind of societies free from unnatural burdens you're speaking of? Or some other human groupings free of society?

The American People 'Get It'
BUSH2 = REAGAN1
So let's go out there and win just one more for the GIPPER
.
Are you some kind of Marxist-Leninist authoritarian social engineer?
I wasn't the first one to use the "You're a Nazi!" card that the Left uses on The Right.
Begone, Sleeper.
I agree, I guess I am voting more against Bush than for Kerry. I really hate to say this, because I was one of those guys that supported Bush in the last election. I feel betrayed, but I have to vote for someone.
Not to mention that Bush could easily get 40%+ of the Hispanic votes.
I guess we should not under estimate Hillary!
We're getting to the point where we're pretty good street fighters, but let's face it, it's getting way too ugly out there for the good of the country.
Your statement:
"Germany was a Christian nation, and they saw it fit to eliminate all non-christian people."
Belies your extreme ignorance about Nazism. (I assume you're referring to Hitler, Nazism, WW2, and the extermination camps?)
Hitler was not a Christian, he was a follower of a nasty mixture of occultism, mythic Teutonic racist nonsense, and most likely a homosexual. Most of the Nazi biggies were the same. Read "The Pink Swastika" or "The Hidden Hitler" - they go into this in detail, and many other historical works in less detail. After Hitler attained power, one of the first things he did was get rid of the church leaders and install his own creatures in their places.
Not just non-Christians were slaughtered.
Are you consciously lying or just ill-informed?
