Arrival at Andrews Air Force Base scheduled for 5 P.M. EDT.
Beginning of procession: 16th and Constitution at 6:00 P.M.
---------
The procession begins at 16 th Street and Constitution Avenue with the ceremonial transfer of remains of former President Ronald Reagan from a hearse to a horse-drawn caisson for the processional to the Capitol. The casket transfer will take place at 6 p.m. and caisson continues east with formal military escort.
The public will be able to pay final respects while the remains lie in state in the Capitol rotunda from 7:00 p.m. through Friday, June 11, 2004 at 9:30 a.m.
Wasn't Cheney just wonderful? Isn't he just the best> We are so luck to have him as VP.
Did you hear Nancy Garrett (sp?), of the Wash. Post tell Brit Hume on Fox earlier that the thousands of people lining the route of the caisson earlier were there because it was historical. Those who wait in line to file past the casket in the Rotunda will be paying respects to the President. I wonder what she thought when Nancy Reagan got out of the car and people cheered and called out that they loved her? Thousands waited in oppressive heat to pay respects along Constitution Ave. The Wash. Post just can't stop sniping. By the way, I didn't see Kerry there.
absolute fools to put OReilly on. email FNC now.
CNBC re-writes history: "Even people who disagreed with him never had a bad thing to say about him."
Harman is my congress-critter. We've been trying to get rid of her in this district for years. I suppose the only good thing about a Kerry presidency (for me) would be that Harman would leave this district. (But that's far and away no reason to let Kerry slip into the presidency.)
Good to see the New York cops were invited.
Watch C-SPAN for the moment, no annoying commentary :) (Or Bill O'Reilly)
Right and that is what he does with the complete trust and blessing of his Boss. LOL
Which means it was perfect.
It was a concise historical summation, using so many of the words and catchpharses associated with Reagan, that put it all in context. Reagan was polite and optimistic, but also a direct and plain talker. Steven's eulogy was fitting and artful. History will remember it more than most.
Normally, I'm good wit recognnizing people, but I am at a loss right now. 8,-{
Tough to earn any money on none stop showing of events.
Very understanding. This was a VERY CLASSY ceremony and oratory by GOOD folks.
I went to MS NBC and am hearing Buchanan. Being he is not talking about himself it is bearable.
BLOVIUS MAXIMUS (played by Bill O'Really)
IS NO SUBSTITUTE FOR HISTORY!
FoxNews ought to be ashamed.
hate to say it, but I think CNN has been doing better and more respectful coverage than Fox...
Kemp and George Will.
