STATEMENT OF SCHINDLER FAMILY MAY 17, 2004
Thank you for coming here today.
My family is so very thankful to the Clearwater Police Department for doing such a thorough and deliberate job with their investigation and for finally proving that these charges were completely baseless. As horrifying as the least six weeks were, I am grateful to the men and women of the Police Department for undertaking their duties seriously and fairly. We are sorry the taxpayers had to pay for an investigation that turned out to be a total waste of law enforcement resources.
We have been banned from seeing Terri for 49 days. Why are we being kept from our own daughter? We have not done anything wrong, the police agreed.
For the past 14 years, my family has endured a hardship that is beyond description. I?m certain that any parent can imagine the horror of such a devastating incident happening to one of your children. It is difficult and heartbreaking to say the least. But what is unbearable is when evil people will go to any length to execute my daughter for their own selfish reasons: They are and will profit financially if my daughter is executed by dehydration and starvation.
My daughter is not in a persistent vegetative state. This is a point that many who have reported on the case in the past simply do not understand. Terri is able to laugh and cry and to respond to us when we visit her. She complies with requests and does her best to please those around her. She has moods. She has good days and bad days - just like you or I. She laughs at my stupid jokes. She cries when we leave. She lights up when she sees her mother. She complains when she is not comfortable. She giggles when her mother plays with her hair. She gets frustrated, happy, tearful, tired, excited - everything you and I do. She just does it in the only way she can. If she were not denied access to the simplest of rehabilitative techniques, she would be in far better shape.
We are very concerned that Terri is receiving sub-standard medical and dental care. Her teeth are rotting and 5 have been extracted. She is not receiving any rehabilitative therapy what so ever. For years we have argued in court that Terri deserves proper medical and dental care, but our pleas have been ignored.
There is no reason for this wonderful young woman to die. With proper medical care and therapy there is hope for Terri. Not only do these people insist on executing my daughter, they are trying to do it as quickly as possible. We ask that families and parents out there show their support by contacting the Florida Supreme Court and urging them not to rush through this case. It is amazing to think that, in America, it is easier to execute someone who has committed no crime than someone who has. Why is my daughter still not allowed to see her mother? She is alive, she is aware, she knows and misses her family. With your help, the truth will be told. Thank you. Bob Schindler Return to Terri's Fight

Her parents have never wanted to harm her. Michael is the one who had done all the sadistic things to her.
Please,......."Where is Mel Gibson?"
Pinging to post 41. Terri's parents on Greta Tuesday evening.
Thanks for your heads up, FL_e!
If anyone wants to be on or off my Terri ping list, please let me know!
Wonderful news! Perhaps this time Greta will have done enough research to understand the full horror of this story! But for sure-I am so very, very grateful to Fox News Cable and so very thankful Greta has followed this tragic saga. She is one extremely bright woman (even if her husband is a Kerry contributer-which she has been upfront about, to her great credit!).
Let us pray that the Schindler's. missing that expertise of polished talking heads, are able to review the last few months of heartache they have suffered at the hands of Michael Shiavo's decrees with lightening jolts of truth and explanation that touch the souls of EVERYONE listening to Greta's show. May God bless the Schindlers and Terri with tremendous courage, strength and love.
US Supreme Court Mandates States Must Provide Disabled per ADA Laws
Mon, May. 17, 2004
The news today of this landmark ruling by the US Supreme Court may be just the arguable backbone needed that may just save all the Terri Schiavo's by getting the State and US Supreme Court in the mood to see Terri as the disabled person she is, protected by both Florida Statute 825 Criminal Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of Elderly and Disabled Prohibited, and from discrimination and denied access to education (speech therapy), access in and out of any room she may be in or need or want to be in, access to public places, access to augmentative devices to develop her communication ability with everyone and thing around her, based on her being a disabled person in need of assistance to get well, instead of being abused, neglected Feloniously, frauded out of her Jury Awarded Rehabilitation Funds and having to survive nearly 8 near successful attempts at causing her intentional death, the attempted killings.
The ruling gives teeth to Title II of the ADA, which requires that state and local governments provide access to services for the disabled. It does not give anyone the right to intentionally kill a disabled person. Not even Terri.
This is really great news........thank you God.
Ping re: Greta from fv's list.

"The disability rights community is not confused by those who would pervert good end-of-life care into a system for ending the lives of people deemed incompetent to make their own decisions. People with brain injury, dementia and labels of "mental retardation" have always been the first targets of the euthanasia movement and the bioethicists who are working to eliminate constitutional protections which any of us may one day need."

No matter how many powers the feds usurp, it never seems to have the slightest effect on possibly saving poor Terri Schiavo from a painful death by dehydration and starvation.
BUMP for #47
Thank You, O God, for the clarity of statement by the Schindler family yesterday ... thank You for their appearance before the public this evening ... thank You for the ruling by the United States Supreme Court regarding the care that must be given to the disabled. We bathe all of this in prayer, for we seek the release of this mother's child into the care of her loving family. Continue to hinder the enemy at every turn, for he has been unrelenting in his desire to murder. Bring such force to bear upon this evil that the merchants of death would now abandon their plan to take this innocent life. We pray that You would put before Terri's legal team that one judge who would break the grip that Michael has held over this defenseless woman. Protect her unto that day, O Lord, in the Name of Jesus, I pray, Amen ...
Thank you for posting this, floriduh ... Praise the Lord for such good news ...
Would the Supreme Court decision on the American with Disabilities Act apply to Terri? The courts (Judge Greer) wrongly ruled that she is in a "persistant vegative state" which we all know she is not. Since the courts ruled Terri is PVS, would the ADA laws apply to her? I pray that it does!
