Perhaps they thought they could improve on the design and screwed with it.
Because we don't use it any more, and likely have no stocks of it. We do have Fuel Air Explosives(FAEs), Pave Pat Blue (Daisy Cutter), and MOAB (Mother Of All Bombs ... well not really but it is a cathy name, no?) We've also got AC-130s, that would make a mess of that mob in short order.
