Who's Your Daddy, Now? (Why Berg Got Whacked)
Vanity ^ | 12 May 2004 | .cnI redruM

Posted on 05/12/2004 9:28:30 AM PDT by .cnI redruM

The Roman Emperor Domitian ruled with an iron hand. He beat down all opposition and brutalized his enemies with an 'aw shucks' grin on his face. His trademark slogan was 'Oderint dum metuent' which can be loosely translated to 'Let them hate me as long as they fear me.'

He made this statement after his son Titus put Jerusalem to the torch and a very large number of its inhabitants to the gladius. It was Domitian's way of saying that he practised terrorism for the simple reason that it worked.

It worked in the 1st Century AD and it works like a charm today. When Al Quaida told it's fixers to shorten Nicholas Berg by a head, they claimed anger as their motive. This propaganda belies the realpolitik behind this act of primevil butchery.

Al Quaida butchered Berg for the same reason that pimps slap their hookers. There were a few Americans out there that just didn't seem obsequious enough over the prison abuse scandal and it was time for Al Quaida to administer discipline.

The thugs who shot Berg wanted Edward Kennedy, John F. Kerry and every member of the appeasement establishment to see what they were capable of and take another shot of cowardice. They need to make sure Rep Murtha loadly decries the unwinnability of Iraq from the top of the towers (the one's still standing at least). This is their way of running a campaign add on behalf of Mr. Kerry.

Yes, they tell America to come home. It's time to allow our national testicles to retract back up into the abdominal cavity of out body politic. Just retreat back across the ocean because we lack the spirit to handle the likes of Al Quaida.

Terrorism, for the likes of Al Quaida, is a very straightforward form of campaign speech. it tells Howard Dean and those of his despicable ilk, the extent to which they will allow America to operate. It's the Arab method of sending a message or as Nate Dawg would say "Time to regulate."

The terrorists are no more angry at us after Abu Ghraib than they were before. The beheading of Nichalos Berg was a chess move to them. A diplomatic communique. The cowards among us heard it loud and clear.

Al Quaida has succeeded well at Mau-Mauing a gathering of weak and effeminate flak-catchers. The incident asks us all a simple and contemptuous question. "Who's your Daddy?"

Thank you for this potent quote.
Islamic thinking is clearly foreign to those of us who claim to be civilized.
We need to change our thought processes to deal with Islam.

Listen, violence is the only language that they understand. Anything less than killing them and feeding their remains to hogs is speaking Latin to treefrogs. They don't get it any more than the tinfoil headed homeless guy on the subway train doesn't get that urinating in his pants is a bad idea. Muslims are a backward savage people. Even the French are above them in their standard of civilization. They have declared jihad on us. They want to crush our flesh bare skulls under their cloven hoofs. why is it wrong or evil to declare jihad them and their American assistants?

God, I am angry beyond anger. What's worse is that the leftists have tried to make our actions equal to these pigeffing savages. Don't they know that if islamatard law came to America, they'd be the first to go?

Americans will choose John Kerry! America is finished! We who say we love America sit by bitching while these traitor Democrats destroy our country!!! Action is what is needed! How? Boycotts of movies, media, companies, etc. that promote liberal, anti-American causes. Letters to the enemy, like Dick Durbin, John Kerry, Carl Levin, etc. Financial support to GW Bush from the people, small & large. You want this country to be free, you better get off your butts and get to work! The liberal scum are winning, and Bin Laden just loves it! John Kerry, leading the willing American sheep to the slaughter. You ought to be real proud of yourselves!!!!!

If Bush doesn't win in November, there's gonna be a whole hell of a lot of Americans "goin' up the country" because anyone living in a large to medium sized city will never be safe again...

This needs to be repeated over and over again.

Call me cynical, but I have a hard time believing that anything of great importance in this country is a mere "accident of timing."

So when Roosevelt and Truman were elected in November, 1940, they knew that the Japs would attack us on December 7, 1941?

"Vietnam...reached its peak level of activity and height of idiocy in the Johnson administration'

Yes, it's amazing that this is overlooked by the great unwashed, of course no 1/2 way educated person denies it. Vietnam caused Johnson to refuse to run for re-election, I mean, how bad was it? I was just a little kid, but as I recall, it was pretty bad.

Not that Nixon did a great job in finishing up there, but for sure he was dealt a hand to play, not cards of his chosing.

I hope that Iraq doesn't make this country like it was back in the early 70s, this is why Bush must win big in November, and why we must continue to prosecute this war to our utmost.

Titus and Domitius were Vespasian's sons. Here.

Don't get preachy...

I boycott anti-american films, companies, etc. I've sent letters to my Senators and congressmen... I give money to conservative organizations and the Bush/Cheney campaign.

By the way, in 1994, voter registration was 60/40 tilted towards Democrats. Now it's 50/50. It takes a long time for a political sea change to take effect. We are winning, not the liberals. They are just the loudest and the media amplifies their message.

We live in a 50% Constitutional Republic and 50% socialistic nanny state. This is a modern-day "Democracy". Half the people are idiots, and, while we do need to turn out the vote, and be vigilant, we don't need to go ballistic at the moment, or stress out to the point of nonsensical calls to action, IMHO.

Everything about us emerges from our Christian foundings, our hesitancy to do what is necessary (including takings out innocents in the process). It has to be very clear to us about the direction before we drop "the bomb" that it is the best direction. The PC direction of the country is founded on a mis-interpretation of Christian thought. I do agree and have said so that besides our Christian hesitancy which is well known, we have a divided electorate which prevents cohesive action for a long term effort. I don't think we really disagree.

I wish I had the time to enter this discussion substantively, but since I don't, I would like to thank AC for introducing historical actuality into the discussion.

JCG, Roosevelt and Truman were RE-elected in 1940, FDR having decide to enter the War at the earliest politically-possible moment, which he did.

The United States was effectively at war with Japan long before December 7, 1941. Even the defining moments in our nation's history aren't merely "accidents of timing."

I disagree...the AQ PR machine is worse than Bush's.

These guys steal a piece of the limelight, and fail to call for Rumsfeld resignation....

Who is running AQ's PR department anyway?...the Kerry campaign?

Not on CNN this morning. They managed to gloss over the Berg murfder as a prelude to continuing coverage of the prison "abuse". They will, in my estimation, continue to do this until their base (democrats) tell them to stop by voting with their TV remotes. This won't happen. They smell blood in the water politically, and will continue their un-American activities that aim to unseat GWB. They are truly despicable.

I happen to agree, but whether the USA can rise to the challenge is my only concern. If we falter, it will have to be the Germans and the Russians, as they have no birthrate, their challenge will come very soon. We still have the Atlantic ocean that will buy us some time, but very little in the age of WMD.

There is a more compelling reason.

The murderers think Berg was (and possibly might actually be) a Jew. They also think that the Americaan media is owned and operated by Zionist Jews. They chose to eradicate a Jew in the most blatant ant public way possible.

The fact he is American is secondary.

I think it was Robert Bork who pointed out that the "Christian foundation" of this country is extremely exaggerated. Look around on any given day and ask yourself if the United States looks like a Christian nation to you in any way.
