Rumsfeld: There are six investigations going on. More will come out certainly. Commanders on the ground got all the troops they asked for. You're right. Gen. abizaid called up and asked for another 20,000. We said yes. You say you don't like surprises. Who does? I don't either. it happens. It is difficult for military commanders to cashflow for something unanticipated. We don't think jerking money from one account to another is good, but it's not a surprise, just a fact.

Brian Williams just came on MSNBC and said that Sen. Lindsey Graham just told reporters in the hallway outside the hearing room that there will be charges brought soon of rape and murder...

And the investigations will continue...this administration will bring people to justice. It'll happen, and the bad guys will be brought to justice--the bad guys in the Army, and the bad guys who are terrorists. Period.

When W wins the election in November (oh, God, please let it happen, amen), there needs to be a massive purge of Democrats from the executive branch. State, Defense, Homeland Security, every Cabinet-level department, all of 'em. It's a radical step, but ALL the political appointees need to be reviewed for loyalty, and if they're thought to be disloyal, can them. W can't clean up the career civil servants, but at least he can sweep the garbage out at the top.
