WASHINGTON FBI agents arrested a Portland, Ore., man Thursday as part of the investigation into the deadly train bombings in Spain, federal officials said.
Brandon Bieri Mayfield, a U.S. citizen, was taken into custody on a material witness warrant, said a senior law enforcement official, speaking on condition of anonymity. The arrest, first reported in Newsweek, is the first known in the United States with connections to the March 11 bombings in Madrid.
The FBI also searched his home, which he shares with his wife, the official said.

From all I've read (most of it here, which is a far more reliable source than anywhere else) it looks like (a) FBI has been watching this cockroach for quite a while, (b) its involvement in the Madrid bombings finally forced FBI's hand, (c) this is another "Cell" akin to the gang of rocket scientists (including Mike Hogwash) who tried to cross China to get into Afghanistan to "Fight The U.S. Aggressors In The Jihad" (Get a look at a map of Asia sometime... you'll be *amazed* at the stupidity of these people, especially a supposedly "intelligent" "educated" engineering type like Hogwash). I think we can expect a cleanup of some magnitude, over the next few days. (My sympathies go out to the local FBI; hopefully rubber gloves will be enough, if not, my condolences for having to wear rubber suits...).
Don't you remember that Vera Katz issued an order to the chief of police in Portland, that he was not to cooperate with the FBI or INS?
When 9/11 happened, the *only* thing she had to say, in her grating nasal whine, was "We need to be sure no minorities get hurt as a result of this". She couldn't have cared less about the fact that 3000 people just died; all she could think of doing was trying to turn it into some sort of civil rights issues for Islamikazis. (Of course, the vile old hosebag had at least one local Islamikazi working *right there in her orifice*, so it's no surprise...)
They arrested him on a material witness charge so they can hold him while further investigation is being conducted (again according to local news).
That's the same thing they did with Mike Hogwash, and the entire time the FBI was holding him, the local leftist commune was demonstrating and howling and protesting and wailing and screaming to the heavens about how unjustly he was being treated ("Free Mike Hogwash" buttons were everywhere...). Then when the indictments were handed down, all of a sudden all the howlers were nowhere to be found... and would rapidly change the subject if you asked them about it... and were suddenly back to worrying about protecting the endangered ancient Iranian leopard mosquito or whatever...
But maybe they were "peaceful" explosives.
Oh, yes, of course! The blessed explosives of Allah (Peace Be Unto Him), the merciful, the just, the smelling-of-goat-fundament...
This "Converted" Islamic rat is just a poster child for the Left in Oregon. He looks like every intolerantly glaring coffee-shop liberal I've ever run into in Beaverfornia (which is where he comes from; Aloha is now just part of Beaverfornia, which is basically now just a cesspool of left-wing Intel imports). We need to seize every possibility to use this and Hogwash and the rest of them as examples of what Vera the Vile and left-wing fascist multiculturalism in general are doing to this State.
haha ! A classic.

They must have something on this attorney that would lead them to check a fingerprint database which had his prints as I don't think his prints wouldn't be in the FBI/CIA database.
Dontcha just hate it when we only have a little piece of the story.
>> This was to Islamic terror training camps . .
I commend your efforts, as well.

Are you thinking of Lynn Stewart the lawyer for Sheik Abdel-Rahman who was convicted in a thwarted conspiracy to assassinate Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and bomb New York City landmarks, including the United Nations and bridges and tunnels. She was arrested for "unlawful communications" with him during prison visits and telephone calls. She was used as a conduit to run his terrorist enterprise from within Federal prison.

But, don't feel bad. Larry King confused them, too:
KING: How are you doing physically?
ISIKOFF: I'm doing fine.
KING: Well, you lost what...
ISIKOFF: Why do you ask?
KING: Because you were injured.
ISIKOFF: No, no, no. I'm sorry. You're thinking of my -- of Michael Weisskopf [of] Time magazine.
Although, I seem to recall Larry King saying "Well, you lost something, right?"
The complaint says Shaltout was arrested on April 9, 2003, taken to Camp Bucca and accused of being a speechwriter and "right-hand-man" of Saddam Hussein. He claims he was beaten after protesting his arrest.
The complaint also says $119,000 was taken from his hotel room in Iraq and not returned. Nelson, said Shaltout cannot go home because American authorities have refused to hand back his green card.
The lawsuit, which demands $350,000 in damages, says Shaltout was freed and eventually taken to Egypt.
Who takes $119,000 in cash to a hotel room in Iraq? Sounds like terrorist behavior.....

Perhaps Mayfield took his wife's 2nd cousin to Portland airport and unloaded the bags from the trunk of his car, getting his pinkies all over them.
She looks like the twin sister of the "tongue lady" who was celebrating on the West Bank on the day of the WTC disaster.
I wonder how serene and peaceful those campgrounds are ??? "Religion of peace", and all that .....
