You are so right!

I just went back and read the RAW DATA report posted by Fox News. I put RAW DATA in caps for a reason. When I worked for the AF, we had to do deal with Inspector General inspections out in the field. We always were given a RAW DATA report before the final report went public and more than once what was in a RAW DATA report was erroneous and corrected before the final report when further information was made available.

We almost had a Hospital Commander at one of the depots fired because of an error in the preliminary (RAW DATA) report that was given to the hospital and forwarded to our office.

The timing is totally suspect as is the leaking to CBS! I am currently searching the DoD site for this report and cannot find it but will keep looking. Did find this press release by the Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs:

Vice Chairman Promises Thorough Look Into Prisoner Abuse
By Donna Miles
American Forces Press Service

WASHINGTON, May 6, 2004 — The vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff condemned abuse of Iraqi prisoners and said the military will get to the bottom of what happened at Abu Ghraib prison and bring the perpetrators to justice.

Military investigators are "looking into every detail of every facet of this that we can find" and will "track down all possible leads" during their probe, Marine Corps Gen. Peter Pace said on the CBS Early Show May 5.

"We are going to go about finding out how this happened, why it happened, take action against those who are responsible, and correct our training systems and our procedures as best we can to prevent this in the future," he said.

Pace dismissed reported claims by those accused in the incidents that they were merely following orders. "These soldiers were not following orders," he said. "That is not what we expect of ourselves. It is not what the American people expect of us. We are expected to perform our duties honorably. And the vast majority of the hundreds of thousands of young men and women — active, Reserve and Guard -- who have served in Iraq have done so honorably."

The vice chairman said the fact that President Bush felt it necessary to go on Arab language television to condemn abuse at the prison "brings discredit and dishonor on all of us who serve in the military and brings discredit on our country."

"And we don't like doing that to ourselves, to our country, (and) certainly not to our president," he said.

Pace said the prisoner abuse, shown graphically on television screens and newspapers worldwide, "is not who we are" and "not what we represent."

"There are thousands and thousands of wonderful Americans right now serving our country overseas," he said. "They're the ones who deserve the credit. And things like this are not what we're about, and are not acceptable."

******

Must admit that this is getting annoying to keep finding press releases that I never see in the media! This clearly shows that the investigation is ongoing and that the RAW DATA report is not the final report on this!

Regardless of what happened or why, our hopes of building an Iraqi democracy are now dead. Let's pull out and call it a victory.

Isn't everyone overreacting just a little bit? Aren't we all just playing into the leftist's hands with this? YIKES!

They don't have any trees there to hang 'em from, and it would cost too much to import lumber for a gallows.

I say beat whatever info out of them we can get, then shoot 'em!

I'll bet the people who were burning to death in the WTC would agree.

I am talking about the prisoners that are part of this investigation.

Forget it -- not worth talking about with some people!

Here is another press release we don't see in the lamestream press:

Detainees Getting Proper Care, Assures Coalition Military Official
By Rudi Williams
American Forces Press Service

WASHINGTON, May 5, 2004 – Detainees at Iraq's Abu Ghraib prison are being fed, have and wear clothes, and do not sleep on the ground, asserted a coalition military spokesman at a Baghdad press briefing today.

Army Brig. Gen. Mark Kimmitt, deputy director for operations, Combined Joint Task Force 7, said a reporter had been "obviously been misinformed" at an allegation that Abu Ghraib prisoners are being held without clothes or food and sleep on the ground in tents.

Kimmitt assured that abuse had stopped at the prison. "We continue in the vast majority of cases to be in absolute adherence to the Geneva Conventions on the treatment of security detainees," he said.

The soldiers involved in the abuse were immediately taken away from Abu Ghraib and suspended from any contact with any portion of the prison, Kimmitt said. "As soon as it was found out that they were involved in this, they were instantly suspended and given no ability to go back into that prison as a guard," Kimmitt said.

"They are being prosecuted. Six are facing criminal charges. Most are through the process of the investigation, and we would expect that after the end of those final investigations, it may end up in a military court martial."

Kimmitt guaranteed that "the United States Army will make a full-faith effort to do everything it can in its power in training, in resourcing and discipline to ensure this never happens again. Is it a fail-safe, 100 percent guarantee? I wish I could stand up here and promise you that. Is it as close to a 100 percent guarantee that one can reasonably expect? That I can guarantee you."

He said, "My Army been embarrassed and shamed by this. And on behalf of my Army, I apologize for what those soldiers did to your citizens. It was reprehensible and it was unacceptable. And it is more than just words that we have to take those words into action and ensure that never happens again. And we will make a full-faith effort to ensure that never happens again."

"It's our firm determination that there will continue to be oversight procedures, training mechanisms in place to ensure that no type of detainee abuse will occur again in the future," Kimmitt said.

"I agree with you that the center has moved more to the left over the years, but I believe that will reverse itself if we don't foolishly cut off our noses to spite our own faces by splintering into useless little factions rather than remaining a larger united whole. I think that slow process has already begun, and we are almost to the point of making real headway if we stay the course. "

I wish I shared your optimism. The media is more radically liberal than ever. There are fewer and fewer voices that clearly articulate conservative ideology.

Where in current public debate are issues like Judicial activism, the debilitating effect of welfare or how government funding caused health care and education costs to increase at rates much higher than inflation.? How many people know what the Laffer curve is? Who addresses the "Real" reson for the second amendment. Why does the National Endowment for the Arts still exist? Why are there even more moves toward centralized control of education in the name of accountability?

Our conservative president bought into the idea that the way to stimulate the economy was a lower middle class tax rebate to encourage consumer spending. Give me a break!

What ever happened to all the conservative firebrands who were elected to congress in the wake of Hillary's health care debacle? I haven't heard from them since the "Contract with America"

Speaking of HRC, I believe she is the oncoming train that no one seems to see. Once she is president, she would need a very small pretext to grant herself absolute power and the the forces of evil in the media would defend her for doing it. The next lib president can write their own ticket. HRC is the only one on the landscape brazen enough to attempt it. She has a very real shot at the presidency if Kerry implodes. The turning tide that you see might be the precursor to a tsunami.

Who slipped the photo's to CBS and the press? and why?

I think it was whoever is running this psyop. Probably the CIA, but it's all pure speculation.

Certainly, the world press is playing this precisely as any reasonable person would expect it to.

If someone wanted to make sure Arab men around the world saw themselves being humiliated by American servicewomen, they have certainly accomplished that goal, and all for the price of a few leaked (and carefully chosen) photographs.

Clever!

I'm entitled to think and say that based on the posts I see you make on practically every single thread on this forum, regardless of content, I believe you don't like anybody except whites.

Based on what?

In that case, I am entitled to think and say that based on the posts I see you make on practically every single thread on this forum, regardless of content, I believe you to be a witch, that baits people and accuses them of being racist, with no foundation, no quotes listed, nothing to substantiate your accusations or opinions. Therefore, I believe that makes you a nasty liar. A "Howling liar" in my opinion. Not only that, you can be observed daily personally attacking others, so I believe you may even be slightly deranged
