John Kerry's commanding officer was just interviewed on Fox News. According to Lt. Commander Grant Hibbard when Kerry showed up in front of him requesting a Purple Heart, Hibbard saw that he had a "scratch"(Hibbard's word) on his forearm. And because, according to Hibbard, there was no report of enemy action on Kerry's patrol that day and the "scratch" did not receive medical attention from a medical officer, Hibbard declined Kerry's request for a Purple Heart.

208 - "There should be an after action report and this report should be referenced on his DD-212 (correct #?)"
Can't find all the after action reports, but he is credited with 3 purple hearts on his DDForm 214 -

Your short synopsis from the news report was interesting, but if I click on the so-called "exerpt from" reference that you provided, I come out to Fox.com which, I think, is a home page and not the article in question. I spent two minutes searching through all the story references on that home page trying to find more on the story you were describing. Very annoying indeed.
Moral: If you are providing your own summary of something you've heard, don't reference it to a source that leads nowhere. Jeeeez.

Less than a month after having claimed three wounds for which he lost no more than a total of two days of duty, Kerry reported as an aide to a navy yard admiral in Brooklyn, New York, leaving his crew in Vietnam. What the hell was he doing there? Counting silverware? The Navy Yard was decommissioned in '66!

He probably would have continued in his quest until he got the answer he wanted.HA!HA!...How old was Kerry then?...and he did this! 3-4 year-olds do this...the Democratic Party is stuck w/ him...they both deserve each other. :)

I wonder if Kerry was able to get special Purple Heart plates for his family's SUV.
At the very least, Kerry should have ordered a Purple Heart frame for his autos' licenses.

Perhaps Kerry can't remember details surrounding his purple hearts because he was in a Purple Haze.

Again, and for the final time, if you read the initial post I stated that I was referring to Hibbard appearing on a Fox News television interview and I reiterated what Hibbard said...now this is the last time I will explain the post. Have a good day!

How come all his "wounds" were on the left side? I guess he's right handed. ;^)
To: kellynla; All
Ok - I cannot get past that he was "injured" so many times in such a relatively short time...it sounds to me like he was attempting to get hurt just bad enough to be sent home. Anyone else think that??

The thing about this that REALLY torques me is that it so demeans the PH's that have been "won" by true heroes. This is so unbelievable...

I agree that we don't need these scandals, but it's SKerry that's bringing them up, not our side.

YOu know - I didn't know the 3PH rule -- it was just my suspicion as soon as I heard how quickly he got those injuries...so transparent. What a pr***!
