Kerry's C.O. Says First P.H. Was Not Authorized by Him

John Kerry's commanding officer was just interviewed on Fox News. According to Lt. Commander Grant Hibbard when Kerry showed up in front of him requesting a Purple Heart, Hibbard saw that he had a "scratch"(Hibbard's word) on his forearm. And because, according to Hibbard, there was no report of enemy action on Kerry's patrol that day and the "scratch" did not receive medical attention from a medical officer, Hibbard declined Kerry's request for a Purple Heart.

Since he was doing clean up, carrying dying or terribly wounded soldiers back to MASH units, he didn't feel that a few stitches were something to bitch about.

I am so proud of him. 6 Bronze Stars and 2 DFC's before he was 30.

I think it is the VVAW activities that we should emphasize and helpfully pressure the Partisan Press, as well as Rush, Hannity, et al, to focus upon.

Someone has to ask Kerry the big questions: do you renounce your comments to the Senate and your remarks that your fellow soldiers were war criminals or not, Senator? Did you personally commit atrocities or were you lying to the Congress?

O'Reilly is supposed to have Kerry on his show in the future - will he allow Kerry to spin him again as a fellow 60's traveler or will he make it the no spin zone and ask those questions? Perhaps we should ask Mr. O to ask the Senator?

I don't watch O'Reilly. Husband can't stand him. But perhaps these larger issues will arise as time goes on.

Or perhaps these are the only questions about military service that Kerry will receive and by default, if the other more serious issues get raised the Old Media can off-handedly say "we've covered Sen. Kerry's military serivce"...and grant him a pass on that aspect.

If this is factual and can be corroborated, then this PH is bogus. Medical attention is required before a Purple Heart can be even considered. There should be an after action report and this report should be referenced on his DD-212 (correct #?)

We need the medical records to confirm the first PH was okayed by a medical officer. And he/she must be out there somewhere if they're not dead...

Neither do I. The problem for the Libs/Kerry/Dems in equating the WOT with Vietnam is that the dedicated troops over in Iraq witnessed 9/11 and have voluntarily given up all of the comforts of home to ensure as best they are able that it does not happen again. The terrorist attacks against us that led up to and including 9/11 were not abstract concepts or as they put it in the 70's a "political war" when referring to Viet Nam.

No we all saw what happened as it happened on 9/11 and contrary to what the Dems hope, most of us, and none of the soldiers, have forgotten.

That is what speaks doom to their plans in November.
