I refer to President Bush as Moses which freaks out my liberal friends.
I feel the exact same way about Bush. Sadly, many will never understand that...

Blah, blah, blah.
1) We are all terminal. It's just a matter of time.
2) We are all unemployed, except for whatever goods and services we make or provide for others. There is only one question capitalism asks: "have you served your fellow man today?" If you can't provide goods and services for which other people (many in exactly the same boat as you) are willing to trade their hard earned dollars, it isn't their fault, it's yours. We all retrain, all the time. I'm on my third career. Ultimately, you are your own employer, and it has nothing to do with "outsourcing."
3) I didn't say you wanted government favors . . . except that you don't want me to buy products that are cheapest or of higher value than those that I can buy here. Everyone wants a monopoly on what they produce and free trade for everyone else. Doesn't work that way.
The fact that you keep referring to your "posse" raises deep suspicions of your motivations. Think what you want, and let them think what they want. In November, this President is going to kick butt and stun all of them.

Yeah...and Kerry's soooooo much of a better speaker....ROFL!!! Actually I think Bush being not-so articulate will work in his favor when it comes to debating Kerry.
Kerry is a sanctamonious word-smith who can double-talk all over the map and still maintain that self assured superior tone while saying NOTHING at all....I think Bush's down home, disarming "I ain't so quick on my feet" delivery will make Kerry seem even more nauseating than he is.
Especially since Bush, being a man of conviction is completely the opposite of Kerry, the flip-flopping political opportunist.
Let's remember, everybody thought Gore would kill Bush in the debates because Gore was supposedly so "intelligent". It backfired. Bush won all the debates.

They are really nice aren't they?
Even the people who answer the phone are a class act in this administration.

Kristina Vanden Huevel(sp). Evil. Pure evil. Mixed with hate. Evil and hate.
It makes you wonder what the world ever did to her to make her such an evil person. Kind of sad.

The only thing I think that President Bush should have mentioned in this speech that he did not address was the situation after WWII transforming the nations of Japan and Germany into peaceful societies. Those people pledged to fight "to the last man".He did mention it, and the Eastern block countries, too.

I support this President and hope he wins but I just wish his handlers would get him into a class to learn public speaking or how to do a better job at these news conferences and get him ready to debate kerry...you know damn well the press will look for anything to berate our President even style over substance...
On another note I turned on Larry King and a sister to one of the pilots from a 9-11 plane was on blasting the media for the way they attack the President, blasting the 9-11 commission for the way they treat the administration and then pulled out the first 9-11 report and basically pointed out Jamie Gorelick's fault as to why the attacks occured...it was glorious!!

Just gave the comment line a call and told them it looked like President Bush did a wonderful job tonight. The lady I talked to laughed and said she would pass on what I next said that my nine year old son just adores him.
To: BigSkyFreeper
The things that the leftists like Susan Estrich and others on the left hate about Bush is that the see him like they did tonight. Honest, plain speaking, coming from his heart, mentioning the Lord and they have a visceral reaction that "he is dumb". They just KNOW they are smarter. And it drives them crazy when they get the snot beat out of them.
Just ask Ann Richards, John McCain, Al Gore, Joe Lieberman, etc, etc, etc, etc.
Bush just good-ol-boy'd a lot of people. He just plain spoke and awe-shucked the media and a lot of other folks. I've been saying for many years that Bush is not a man you play poker with. Because he will beat you, then give you a couple of bucks back as you go out the door thinking you will come back and win "next time". And you come back, and he does it to you again. And again. And again....

Astute comparison. In 1864, Lincoln was feeling so much heat over the casualties (and, compared to Iraq, a single DAY during the Civil War had more casualties than our two WARS in Iraq), that he was not expected to win re-nomination from his own party. The Dems hated him. (What's new). His own limp-wristed "moderates" were ready to desert him, and the "far-right" wing (Radicals) wanted someone more, er, radical.
But the military victories came in the fall of 1864, and that was that. Chances are, Bush will benefit from several good developments on the battlefield (and in the economy) by the fall of 2004 as well.

Honestly, I'm going by what'll affect that 5-7% swing vote. It's not the FR happy dance thing either. That 5-7% so-called "swing vote" was more than likely not watching the press conference, or maybe they caught a couple of minutes while they were channel-surfing. "Swing voter" is another way of saying "undecided" or "independent", which is all just another way of saying, "indecisive" or "I can't make up my freakin' mind!" People in this category don't watch the news every day, only catch sound-bites and news briefs. They won't pay much attention until the last few weeks before the election, when the media start paying attention to them, and hold the "swing voter" up on some pedestal, waiting for the pearls of wisdom to issue forth from their lips, and they'll try to act smart, and try to act like they've got something profound to add to the debate.
No, I'm sure it's not the FR happy dance thing with the "swing voter", but it also isn't the Bush is Satan thing with them, either.

The sister of the pilot who captained the flight that crashed into the Pentagon was on Larry King just now:
Larry King
- Are you angry at the President?
The sister
- No, I'll tell you what. I am outraged watching the press corps asking ugly biased questions of the President of the United States.
- I am angry at the bastards who broke into the cockpit and killed my brother
- I am angry at the partisan 911 commission who is out for a lynching
- The President spoke to the American people tonight, and he spoke to me.
To: relee
And Katrina just griped about the growing anger among 911 families....implying that Iraq was a better place , terrorist-wise, before our actions...

She is the most hateful vile person who used to be a regular on Matthews' show when I was a regular viewer. My remote knew to hit mute whenever she appeared. Please change the channel and spare your nerves.
To: yield 2 the right
Michael Savage is saying Bush did badly tonight, some callers agree. He did do badly tonight. I don't know what channel most on this thread were watching, but I saw a president who was tired, defensive, and constantly searching for words. This was not the strong, sharp W. we expected.
Having seen him twice in person, and having watched most of his major speeches, I know he is capable of much better.
