Michael Savage is saying Bush did badly tonight, some callers agree.

He did do badly tonight. I don't know what channel most on this thread were watching, but I saw a president who was tired, defensive, and constantly searching for words. This was not the strong, sharp W. we expected.

Having seen him twice in person, and having watched most of his major speeches, I know he is capable of much better.

I guess we watched a different press conference. I saw him as strong, resolute and uterly amazing in the face of all the pointed political hardball questions.

I couldn't disagree more. Are you tired and cranky at the end of a long day?

President Bush spoke perfectly from his heart. Held his cool. Turned the other cheek without retreating. He was graceful and personable. He was committed and bold. He cared about the families of the slain without being false like President Clinton's "I feel your pain" lies.

At the risk of getting attacked by the angry crowd, I agree.

Obviously the press are a bunch of liberal screw worms, however, it was very painful to watch.

He seemed to be unfocused, lost, unprepared, and drifting on several occasions. Only the blind and deaf, or those with a political agenda could not see it, or would not admit it.

The problem here is when someone makes a comment or steps out of formation, in the slightest, and says something that does not fall into what the mob repeats over and over, we'll they are fair game. It's like waving an Israeli flag at an Ali Baba worship fest in downtown Baghdad. You'll get wolfpacked.
