Because of the ever-proliferating number of questions-about-your-past that exclude donors ("In the last twenty years, have you set foot, even once, in a plague-infested country like Chad, Burma or England?"), I'm one of the three or so people left in the Western Hemisphere who can still give blood. They're draining me dry. I get pleading calls in the middle of the night. Will someone else please donate while I still have vital body fluids?

So, what's to be done with all the blood? Let's hope it's been screened well but do they screen for everything? If not then it should be dumped. That lying little twit should be kicked out of the sorority and there should be an investigation of her classwork since she's a known liar and cheat and pull any scholorships. Hmm, wonder if the scholorhip folks know about this? Then Guinness should ban them as a group and individually from ever entering their book. Finally, Miss Key should be charged with attempted murder and at least be sentenced to community service at the local treatment clinic. One more thing, a good public dosing al la prom in "Carrie" would finish her off nicely.

Which one in the photo is Christie Key?

"Members of a sorority were urged to lie about their health to qualify as donors in a 'competitive' blood drive at the University of Missouri-Columbia (search), a school that once set a world record for blood collection."
COMPETITIVE??? WHY in the world is a blood drive, competitive?????! Unbelievable!

I'll get in line right behind you. The blood donation center here likes me too 'cause my blood is relatively rare (A-).

Women can be VERY competitive when it comes to charity work.

That happens all the time. Every year around the time of the big South Carolina-Clemson football game here, the two schools have a competition to who can donate the most blood. It's silly bragging rights, nothing more.

"I dont care if you got a tattoo last week LIE. I dont care if you have a cold. Suck it up. We all do. LIE. Recent peircings? LIE." Wasn't there a flareup in 2000 of college students from St. Louis, Missouri who admitted to voting several times on election day (against Bush)?

I am very particular which group I donate blood to. There are organizations out there that take your blood for free then turn around and sell it to pharmaceutical companies or research facilities for big bucks!!!! Or...they sell it to hospitals for as much as $300 a pint!!! What a total scam! Then all we hear is 'we have a blood shortage'. I know several RNs who will only give blood to the Red Cross because of this....

And even the Red Cross isn't without corruption. Just ask the FR Bloodhounds I pinged higher up in the posts on this thread.
I donate for relatives, primarily.

b) the parents of the student?
c) the president of the sorority?
d) the president of the university?
e) the president of the local blood bank?
f) the president of the Red Cross?
g) the sorority?
