Now we can destroy his militia without hinderance from the Iraqi government.Well, let's just hope so. I sure don't want some political pundit tying the hands of our military who are trying to protect themselves and the innocent Iraqis.

Have we even repsonded to the killings of the 4 Americans yet that STARTED this? The Marines are deep inside the village and are going house to house. Many arrests.

Before I get accused of getting my factys wrong. How far is this from the fighting earlier today? There seems to be fighting all over Iraq today. I can't keep track of the battles. Has anyone heard more about the embassy take-over in Basra?
To: Dog
This area is west of Baghdad.....east of Fallujah.Should be even west of Fallujah...

But WILL we.... is the bigger question. Why are we still puss'ing around with these ass clowns? Have we even repsonded to the killings of the 4 Americans yet that STARTED this? From what I have read, we've gone into Fallujah like a big dog today and arrested many of the participants of that attack (there are downsides to having your mug on TV when committing atrocities). I think it would be a mistake to engage in full-scale retaliation that would kill hundreds of innocents - we still have public opinion in Iraq on our side, and we need to not overdo any response to an action.
The dustup with the Sadrites is a separate issue - it's been a long time coming, and we need to destroy that militia sooner rather than later.

Hmmm... perhaps it is time to hire on Saddam as a consultant. He knows how to deal with the Shiites.

Anybody remember the chapter from Thomas Friedman's book From Jerusalem to Beirut about how Assad of Syria took care of terrorists -- Hama Rules. He turned the whole terrorist city into a parking lot; literally flattened it and paved it over. Not a bad idea.
