Al Franken-Fraud Air America Radio Link-LIVE THREAD Day 1

A Wonketeer writes, point your browser here (link) at noon and you will be able to listen to this crap fest yourself.
Don't do it before noon or you will be subjected to more 1950's music than you can handle.
When you think about it, it totally makes sense : Air America the liberal radio network, will not be broadcasting in the DC metro area.. DC went 70 percent for Gore! They don't need convincing.
We suspect that Air America will blow. Then again, it could suck.
Or perhaps it will achieve some mysterious simultaneous combination of the two. And while we are normally unopposed to mocking things that we have no direct knowledge of, this material seems rich.
For those of you who reside in one of the five areas covered by the Air America 'empire,' please send along your thoughts and comments.

That thread only went through the 1st hour and had less than 60 posts. They were so disheartened, they abandoned it.
I listened to the first Franken hour. It was bad.
The good news is this: They have only one direction to go-- better -- because it can't be any worse than that first hour was.

Like a drunk who starts shouting in the middle of a crowded bar people will pay attention for a little while before returning to what they were doing. Franken is going to have to do better than spend 3 hours saying what a big fat idiot Rush is, and to be frank I dont think hes up to the job.

Will the FCC fine
"The Stewart Smalley Show" for profanity on its first day? Ann Coulter-playing-chick screams "God Damn-it! Let me out!"

I have to credit a freeper for freepmailing me that suggestion :-)

"All in all it sounded just like any other NPR show but just not as funny."
Have you noticed that dems are funny when they try to be serious and somber when they try to be funny. Most "hate Bush" dems I know do not have a humorous bone in their body. Except when they see pain and suffering. Remember Frank Burns on MASH? He could only see humor in pain!

Pathetic and sick... they're doing on-air rape re-enactments. Where's NOW when we need them?

I'm sure the over-the-air broadcasters bleeped it, because (if you noticed) the streaming audio went on a bit after 3:00 PM EST. They probably know they will have no self-restraint anbd have built in this safety O'Franken factor.

Interesting that Rush is off for the next three days. Hmmmmmmmmmm..........Poor Frankenprank has no original ideas (he can only react to others).
CNN showed what seemed like live video of Franken in his studio and Rush in his. The only problem was...Rush wasn't really in his studio today.
They must have been showing an old video. They couldn't let reality get in the way of a good story.

Hey, that gives me an idea. Can we send Rush overseas? Rush and Boortz in Britain. What a hoot.
They wouldn't know what hit them over there.

Some shrill harpy is "interviewing" Ralph Nader now, but abusing is more accurate. Now he's commenting on her abysmal interviewing technique, talking over him, screaming at him. Unbelievable. What a disaster. He finally hung up in disgust.
This is far worse than I ever imagined it would be. Totally unlistenable.

O'Frankens' daughter asks, "Hows your show doing?" "I, akg, (small pause after choak), I think it's doing well."
This is so painful.
Dragging in family members is the last ditch effort of scoundrels to gain sympathy. Did Franken talk about his mother or his dog, yet?

But this show was absolutely unlistenable. Seriously, reruns of Prarie Home Companion would have gotten them more votes.
I knew they were in trouble when they quoted Gary Trudeau (Doonsebury xerox king).
I figured the whole thing jumped the shark when algore phoned in.

This british broad on the radio now doesn't exactly say "Middle America" to me when I listen to her.
The only hope that Air America has if they want to continue to present this stuff the way they are doing it, is if the Northeast Chowderheads and Left Coasters turn the dial from NPR.
This won't happen because these people have pretty much tuned in NPR and they broke off the tuning knob.
To: BaBaStooey
OK I couldn't listen before now mostly because I forgot about lib-radio. But I turned on the rerun so see what it's about and it's deadly duuuullllllll... like the mantra to all writers: Don't be boring! The discussion is all numbers and why rich people should pay more taxes just because.
