FR DNS problems...
today

DNS lookups failing for FR here - no such host. Apparently I'm not the only one, judging from a glance at the Yahoo FR board. Dunno if it's my ISP (Verizon) or what, but I had to manually edit the hosts file to get here. Presumably, if you can post, you're not having this problem, but there are more than a few people who can't post right now because of it...

What a hideous day! I was thinking that the Illuminati had finally blocked my access. They're everywhere, you know...

I found the IP address through seattle.politics. They were bashing Free Republic but somebody gave out the IP. Hah! Glad to be back.
I found out the IP from our friends at DU. I knew they wouldn't be able to keep their mouths shut.

I haven't received one yet. What sort of bad stuff were you doing to get singled out for one? Seriously, I FReep mailed Jim about a very long anti-semitic rant someone posted over at FR2. He had deleted it and FReep mailed me back in about two minutes. Both he and John have no doubt had their hands full all day.

I use Webtv & it doesn't seem to be compatable with Yahoo. Yahoo will let me sign up & then it tells me it doesn't know me. LOL

"Yes, that's the Louisiana Purchase, not the state of Louisiana as it exists today... "
Yes, and it has a population less than that of Pocatello, Idaho. And about as much water to boot. That said, I just returned from Victoria, and I loved it. The people, the scenary, all wonderful.

Hey, I'm very sorry if I somehow offended you. One of my life's goals is to take a long vacation in Australia and New Zealand.
I can heartily recommend that goal. My mother's Australian, my father's New Zealander, and so I consider myself a "native" of both. Both countries are friendly, beautiful, scenic, easy to navigate, and fabulous places to visit (and live, for that matter).
That's the problem with the Internet, you can't see people's faces.
But with a face like this, would you really want to? ;-)

I put an icon up on the screen of another machine quite a while back and I don't remember the URL offhand, but it's close to freerepublic. This machine is relatively new and I haven't cluttered it up yet. If you haven't found it somehow ping me again tomorrow when I would be on the old system.

What sort of bad stuff were you doing to get singled out for one? Now that I look at his email I see it came from my Yahoo login. I posted a question there before I figured out how to get here.
False alarm.

Have you ever tried modeling? With your face and build you could do it.

Apology accepted?
From one loudmouth (although not Texan) to another, that apology is most certainly accepted.
P.S. Texans aren't idiots. Although GW Bush's inability to say "nuclear" (a word I mastered at the age of seven) is a tad disturbing... ;-P

Actually I think when you fly to Perth from Sydney once you get "West of the rabbit proof fence" somewhere near the "Black Stump" it's "Wall-to-bloodywall bugger-all" except for that Dinkum Dunny I used once (and only once). G'Day Aucker(sp?).

Nothing wrong there. If I was younger, I'd come over in a heartbeat. Last visit was in '84 for a month.

I'm willing to give President Bush a pass on the "nukular" thing. President Carter said it (and still says it) the same way and he WAS a nuclear scientist.

Oh my goodness! I finally found you. It was quite disturbing to be without FR for most of the evening.
Hello Dolly!

Oh no I couldn't. Not much call for plus-size models here in Australia, and actually to tell the truth I fall between being plus-size and normal size anyway. I used to work in the rag trade, and even people whose job it was to size people up would say "You'd be a size ten (Australian standard for modelling), wouldn't you?" Then I'd turn, smile, face them full-on and say "Not with these shoulders and this ribcage, darls. I'm definitely a 14 up top."
