IMO This public spotlight and continued infamy/fame in his own mind will be ample pay for the meglomaniac.
These guys whining that Condi won't come talk to them had better be careful. They just might be sorry.
This is the Condi Death Stare that I mentioned in an earlier post.

This commission sends a terrible message to the terrorists. They are seeing that it isn't hard to attack a sitting President from within. They are seeing just how easy it is for the rats to politicize any process whatsoever and shift the entire focus from constructive to destructive.
Just terrible...

Well, Armitage will tell it like hit is....He would tell you "We Got Our Arse Kicked" rather than grandstand and ask the families for "forgiveness"
To: arasina
Right, and if people depended on the evening news for their fix of the committee hearings, they'd get the impression this isn't a wash for the Bush administration. Judging from the headlines in huge font type on various news sites, it would seem Bush is toast.

Roemer praising Armitage for his honesty, etc. -- he must be remembering the Clinton Administration.
To: Peach
Oh, no, Roemer turns it over to Gorelick, but not before he slams Condi Rice one more time.
To: texasbluebell
OK, Roemer just had to remind us again...that Dr. Rice is not there.
To: texasbluebell
LOL - looks like W gave her a few lessons!

And Clarke has been allowed to make a mockery of the serious inquiry this commission is supposed to be conducting. Who is exploiting 9/11 now? He was allowed to do because of some members on the 9/11 panel
It's a sad day

Let me expand a bit. The last administration did nothing. The Bush administration has thousands of Taliban and Al Qaeda bodies to it's credit.
Very graphic but easily understood.

Here's a memory I have of big Jim Thompson from the past...RINO...perhaps...but he knows how to play political hardball...and he loves the President...I borrowed this from a blog, but it jives with my memory...I remember the news shows playing Thompsons "multiple use of word wimp" film clip ad nauseum. It was DEVASTATING to Stevenson.
In 1982, Adlai Stevenson III (D) was running against incumbant Jim Thompson (R) in the Illinois gubernatorial election. At one point, a reporter (more or less out of the blue) asked Stevenson if he was a wimp.
Stevenson should have responded "Of course not! Next question!", or "Is that really your question?", or anything to downplay the question (which shouldn't have been hard), lest the question became a subject of public discussion. The question was stupid, and did not deserve emphasis, and a shrewd politician would realize that any emphasis of it would be bad.
Instead, Stevenson responded by saying he wasn't a wimp, and went on to complain that Jim Thompson treated him like one.
What a politically dumb move! At that point, the door was open for Thompson to address the issue.
Thompson soon responded to the effect of: "I never called Senator Stevenson a wimp. I never said he was a wimp. I'm sorry he thinks I called him a wimp," and on and on.
The Lincoln-Douglas debates it wasn't, but Stevenson, by charging that Thompson treated him like a wimp, had allowed Thompson to say the word "wimp" several times in association with Stevenson. (Thompson won the election.)
See, there are some things you just should avoid talking about when your running for high office. Nobody needs to know what kinds of underwear you wear. Nobody needs to hear you say you're not a wimp (and if they do, it's already too late.)
Back to my comments...I still have, even today, a button that says, "Don't be a wimp, Vote Republican!" Thank you Big Jim Thompson...I wore it all during the 02 congressional campaign...

Roemer sweet talking Armitage to get Dr. Rice to come....they're dying to get their hands on her.

Exactly what Juan said on FNC following Clarke's testimony. This is going to be great for the Democrats: show President Bush to be weak on terror. Rush said yesterday that's what they are doing. They haven't been successful on going after him on his weaknesses, so they are trying to knock down his biggest strength.

Condi can take care of herself.
The Commiecrats may want to drag her before this group but that's not that way it works. Tough noogies.
To: mombonn
Ha! They're a great team, those 2.
