Why do they hate President Bush?

Posted on 03/22/2004 10:45:11 AM PST by HankReardon

Seems like a simple question. The people I talk to cannot tell me why they hate him. And I think it is hate, they use words and phrases like "his daddy" and "bushies" in a very demeaning way. Also, some one asked me, why do they hate Bush, I did not know how to answer. I mean, the same people that can unconditionally love a President who tried to fix a U.S. court case against an American citizen are the often the same people who hate Bush. The same people who can for decades excuse a U.S. Senator for vehicle homicide while driving under the influence of alcohol are often the same people that hate Bush. How does President Bush merit this hatred?

They hate him because he is NOT a socialist!

America right now is like one big dysfunctional family with 1 good parent and 1 screwed up parent.

The good parent wants the children to be responsible , manage their own lives and be responsible like it has always been.

The bad parent wants to take care of the child, pay for everything, tell him how and when to do everything. And if the child doesn't want to this bad parent will do it for them, he wants to spoil the child. (The Disneyland Democrat Dads)

This is why they hate Bush - Bush is forced into playing the bad guy (parent) by the Dems who want to give them everything. Of course some idiots are going to choose free goodies over hard work.

They hate Bush because he epitomizes everything they hate - a white Christian male, who takes his religion seriously and loves his country. The topper is that Bush stands in their way to the halls of power and its driving them insane.

Normally they could conceal their hatred for this country long enough to get elected, but now they start talking and the hate and anger just pours through.

And its not like Bush is mean, despite their claims. Bush never attacks anyone and in fact let Kennedy and the democrats write the education and farm bills.

Why do they hate President Bush?

I just recently asked leftist this very thing, and after stuttering a bit he said (paraphrasing)...."uh......abortion rights.. .....and he stole the election. .....and he's only concerned about making money for his rich friends and associates in the oil business. .....and he's destroying the environment."

What it comes down to is that the left is out of power, and they just can't deal with it.

For spending money like a Democrat and expanding government like FDR.

For throwing the gates open to illegal aliens and letting Vicente Fox have his way with the U.S.

Those are decent starting points. Of course, it may depend on whom you are referring to as they.

My priorities are straight too. I just try to see things, as best I can, without clouding it with emotion. I look at Clinton and see 8 years of wasted opportunity, not "that damn jerk did you know what in MY whitehouse!" I look at the Monica Lewinsky scandal as an embarassment to the country and I'm very happy we have an honorable guy sitting there today.

because Bush believe in right and wrong. He makes moral judgements and the left hates moral judgements. They hated Reagan most when he made his "evil empire" speech.

I think it has something to do with the fact that Bush is a real, honest to goodness masculine MAN, and their idols are mainly sissified girly men such as the new breed known as metrosexuals. It is also related to his openly professed Christian faith. To liberals, true Christianity is a simpleminded religion suitable only for ignorant knuckle-dragging Neanderthals. Which also happens to be their definition of a conservative.

There is a deep split in the country regarding social issues - a "culture war." Add to that Bush's willingness to eschew "mulitlateralism" of the UN//EU stripe in Iraq and his desire to see citizens keep more of their income, and you have everything that is the antithesis of the modern liberal philosophy. He is a "cowboy" who sees things in black and white. (Hey, sometimes that's a VERY good thing, especially for the leader of the free world!)

But yes, some people don't even think it through that far.

How does President Bush merit this hatred?

The answer is both simple and distressing. President Bush, by his very existence, forces the "haters" to see how shallow and venal they really are.

They hate goodness for exposing their fraud to themselves.

Leftists detest anything that gets in their way of their "ideal Socialist state".

In this case, it's barely a speed bump.

It's called "reflexive". Anything not Democratic is reflexively hated.

BTW, Republicans do the same thing.

Interesting point about God. Some leftists sneer at the words "under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance, saying it's just a holdover of "McCarthyism." If so, then the Founding Fathers were McCarthyists also! Our rights come from God - if they don't, if they come from government, then they can be taken away by government. Communist countries believed this; countries such as the US do not.

At least not yet. But I hope it never changes.

There was a similar hatred of Clinton

Hatred, yes; similar, no.

Hating Bush is an example of what Ayn Rand calls "hatred of the good for being the good"; whereas ...

Hating Clinton is an example of hating evil for being evil.

In JESUS day, almost everyone hated and was against HIM. We know what the scriptures teach us about the world.

When the world continues too scream against Bush, it makes me support him even more. I had stop supporting Bush for a while until I saw the hatred by the world toward Bush. There are lots of underlaying reasons for their hatred, but bottom line its spiritual. The scriptures teach who the god of this world is....and it ain't JESUS.

Actually that's a very interesting point: our rights come from God, else where do they come from? As an agnostic (who'd very much like to believe there's a God) I'm often dragged into conversations about right and wrong. My chief point is that, if there is no God, then there's no such thing as right and wrong. There has to be a metaphysical basis for morality or it wouldn't exist: it would simply be a thing that people do, for reasons of their own, which is enforced by people, and has absolutely no other significance than that. This is a frightening concept, at least to me.

That is the Democrats dirty little secret, that a large portion of those who consider themselvs Democrats are, in fact, fairly conservative in some way or other. The only way they keep those people from defecting is by demonizing the other side. Now, I am not going to pretend that Republicans don't demonize, but I can't remember the last Democrat that was demonized by the Republicans (Clinton dont count, he was slimified by his own, uh, slime, if you will). The Republicans used to demonize by calling the other guys commies (essentially), but that doesn't work any more. I mean, we live in an age where the Democrats get up there and say that the Republicans want to starve senior citizens.. What do the Republicans say that is even as remotely as bad?

Another thing I've found that's weird is that there are some Dems I come across that love to claim that they're the "true conservatives"! How strange is that?

I'd like to bite on the morals issue with you.

Though I do believe that morals come from our Creator, I have an explanation of morals for those that do not believe in a Creator.

Morals are the summation, or the proxy, for thousands of years of human trial and error. Behaving in "immoral" ways, most of the time, results in negative consequences occurring (unless you're in present day USA, where leftists force the producers to absorb the consequences of others' bad choices).
So, anyway, over long periods, cultures developed around these observations of SUCCESSFUL vs NONSUCCESSFUL lifestyles and behaviors, from which our definitions of MORAL & IMMORAL value judgements come from.

I want to reiterate, this is not my deeply held belief about morals, but it is an explanation to use on the godless leftists as to why the Western cultural values are by definition superior.

I often feel as if I'm a "true liberal" because I consider afirmative action to be unfair and immoral, because I think that if a muslim can celebrate his/her faith in school then a christian should be able to, that there should be a flat tax (making things equal), etc.
