Appeasment? Europe and America have armed forces and prop up dictators all over the Middle East. The terrorism we experience is a direct result of our being there in the first place. What Spain did in the last election is hardly "appeasement". It is reality. Would over 200 Spainards have been dead if they did not have troops in Iraq and backed the USA? Yes or No? Would 3000 Americans have been murdered on 9/11 if we didn't have troops in Saudi Arabia and backed dictators all over that region? No. And that is not "blaming America" as Buchanan so ruffed up the stupid Hannity on his own radio show today.

My grandmother used to tell me about how she felt when she woke up one morning and heard on the radio that France fell to Germany. She said it was just the day or so before that the Nazi's were hitting Paris and she thought, what? Did they not even try to fight?

I know EXACTLY how she felt that day when I actually heard the news Monday that Spain voted for Socialists because of the attacks. Somone called in on a show today and said that he talked to someone in Spain and asked them why? She said, well, if you don't bother them, the terrorists will leave you alone. Oh, ignorance is surely bliss, is it not?

I don't think there was any coincidence in the two actions coming so close together. I think the Socialists knew the attack was coming and were ready with their public pronouncements in order to take advantage of the public's grief and fear.
