My grandmother used to tell me about how she felt when she woke up one morning and heard on the radio that France fell to Germany. She said it was just the day or so before that the Nazi's were hitting Paris and she thought, what? Did they not even try to fight?

I know EXACTLY how she felt that day when I actually heard the news Monday that Spain voted for Socialists because of the attacks. Somone called in on a show today and said that he talked to someone in Spain and asked them why? She said, well, if you don't bother them, the terrorists will leave you alone. Oh, ignorance is surely bliss, is it not?

Bush said the other day that Spaniards had voted for appeasement because they hoped feeding the alligator meant that he'd eat them last. It didn't work in the 'thirties and won't work now. Alligators eat whatever's handy, and Spain has a large Muslim population. They're in for trouble.
