DEMAND an investigation into the Dem-Planted, Phoney 9/11 "outrage" story! (but be nice!)
As Doug from Upland said:
We are going to find that the RATS contacted family members who are anti-war, anti-Bush and who lost relatives on 9-11. We will find they were given the phone numbers of newsrooms. We will find they were given talking points. . .
We will not let this stand. John Effin Kerry is attempting to use 9-11 for his political benefit. John Effin Kerry, no effin way.
We need to keep the pressure on the NYT and demand that they investigate the Democrat slugs who tried to exploit 9/11 in this disgusting manner for political gain.
Please call the New York Times here: (212) 556-7652
Demand that they investigate this. As Doug said:
Although some who called got out of hand, we got the NY TIMES to take notice of the story. They were deluged with phone calls. I understand Neal Boortz was on the story as well as other hosts.
Keep the pressure ON them. (212) 556-7652
Two weeks from now, no one will be interested in skullduggery on the media's part. They will only remember that grieving families were hurt by Big Bad Bush.
However, Bush must continue along this line, and must do so relentlessly. It's a propaganda game: we have to have the constitution to stick to our general line, while the Kerry people need to throw us off our stride in order to reduce the effectiveness of Bush's vast war chest. If Bush can make the waffle meme stick, then we will win this election.
Bush's quote from yesterday's speech is instructive:
"My opponent clearly has strong beliefs -- they just don't last very long,"
Bush understands what will beat Kerry: the truth, repeated over and over and over.
A couple of stories in conservative newspapers such as the NY Post or the Washington Times do not a counteroffensive make. Liberal reporters will not get out of bed tomorrow feeling all guilt-ridden and possessed of a need to tell the story straight.
Not a chance. Propagandists are in the business of shading the truth. It's what they do for a living. Bush understands that he must go around the media to beat the media's candidate.
Be Seeing You,
Chris

"How many Americans remember the "Rats" story from 2000? We do. We're committed people. Most people don't, however. Most folks hear about "scandals" like this in passing. So, when they're told that September 11th "families" object to Bush campaign commercials, they believe that Bush has done something bad. Why? Well, if all one is hearing is anecdotal stories about how the heartless Bush people have opened a wound in the hearts of innocent, grieving September 11th widows, then it is going to hurt Bush."
Correct. Most sheeples hear headlines. They allow themselved to be spoon-fed what they believe is news and they don't bother to even hear the whole story, much less analyze what they're being told. In this instance, most folks only hear that 9/11 victim's families are upset. They don't allow themselves to know that the two people doing the media tour represent something along the order of .007% of that universe of families. The damage is done.
And you know damn well that this strategy was qued up months ago, ready to pounce the minute Bush used 9/11 as part of his campaign rhetoric.
"I can also guarantee that certain editors and reporters are probably coordinating with the Kerry people and the DNC the timing of the next "scandal du jour", which will have the theme: "Bush is trying to Hide Something, otherwise he would Testify in Public"."
I disagree. In his book, Bias, Bernie Goldberg advances the theory that the media doesn't have a scandalous political agenda. They simply believe that everyone's politics are the same as their's, except for those few, nasty, silly conservatives. They believe themselves to be in the political mainstream. Since this stance is really left of center, they embrace liberal, ergo Democrat ideology.
This is why the left gets access and conservatives aren't taken seriously by the media. And, you're right, Chris; we have to find a way around this. That is a tough proposition.
On the other hand, when that "scandal" is advanced by the Dems, the media will pay attention and give them plenty of access to spread that propaganda.
As I understand it, O'Reilly allowed this parade to pass through his show. This suprises me. Seems he would have seen it coming. I want to see if Bill has the stones to go after these people. And, I'll help make sure he feels the heat.
God bless!
Good on you, Doug.
I'll be bugging Anne Kornblut later this P.M.
This story continues to fester and more info coming out; good to keep posting more info. . .(began with posting by stradivarius - News/Activism 02/23/2004) which I never saw; did not catch this until last week by way of links offered by windchimes': in post by 'Outraged'/post by TexasRainmaker; many other Freepers working on this as well; it is really important to have this out there/everywhere!. . .
The following just some of the info re the Heinz Endowment; and there is much more at this address re the Heinz Endowment connections; please read it all!http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/tribune-review/opinion/s_169770.html
The Heinz Endowments have teamed up with a secretive left-wing group What makes the pairing with Tides troubling is that organization's secretive funneling of cash from private foundations -- such as Heinz, the Pew Charitable Trusts and many others -- to extreme left-wing activist groups whose interests include exclusion of humans from both public and private lands, anti-war protests, opposition to free trade, banning of firearms, abolition of the death penalty, unlimited abortion rights, gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender advocacy, as well as and environmental extremism.
Friends of Heinz
The Tides Center also manages the Youth Gender Project whose goal is to "empower and support transgender, gender-variant, intersexed and gender-questioning youth and young adults." . . .
Grant recipients also include the Iraq Peace Fund that has so far granted $489,000 to 27 groups to promote anti-war marches and their coverage by the news media, as well as the mission of one of those groups, MoveOn.org, whose purpose is to defeat George W. Bush.
The Ruckus Society, which received over $200,000 in Tides money between 1999 and 2002, was begun in 1995 to train activists in violent protest against biotechnology, globalization and the World Bank. It incited property destruction in the Seattle riots of 1999 and Washington, D.C., the following year. However, Ruckus director John Sellers didn't see the wanton destruction of property as being violent at all. He told Mother Jones magazine, " I make a distinction between violence and destruction of property. Violence to me is against living things. But inanimate objects? I think you can be destructive, you can use vandalism strategically. It may be violence under the law but I just don't think it's violence."
please read all of article; inlcudes info on Alar scare as well; and the Tides connection.
Cannot understand, why this story is 'leaking' rather than than exploding! Even Fox's Brit Hume made it 'lite' by doing only some of this story last night.

The Globe is newly aware of the alleged connection between the 9/11 ad protesters and the funds provided by Teresa Heinz Kerry, and is checking it out.
I responded, with:
Thank you, but I made the Globe "aware" of this connection on March 6, through my e-mail to Anne Kornblut - as I mentioned in my original.
Sounds like your phone call may have done it, but their excuse now will be "Oh, that's old news."
