Kerry's Anti-War Record Discussed at White House Briefing
2/10/2004 | Jeff Gannon

Posted on 02/10/2004 2:56:29 PM PST by Jeff Gannon

This was the exchange at today's White House press briefing, much of which focused on George W. Bush's service records with the National Guard.

JEFF GANNON (Talon News): Since there have been so many questions about what the President was doing over 30 years ago, what is it that he did after his honorable discharge from the National Guard?

Did he make speeches alongside Jane Fonda, denouncing America's racist war in Vietnam?

Did he testify before Congress that American troops committed war crimes in Vietnam?

And did he throw somebody else's medals at the White House to protest a war America was still fighting?

What was he doing after he was honorably discharged?

MR. McCLELLAN: We've already commented on some of his views relating back to that period the other day. And, obviously, this was a time period also when he was going to get his MBA at Harvard. But the President was certainly proud to serve in the National Guard.

TERRY MORAN (ABC NEWS): And would the White House consider those actions by Senator Kerry, that Jeff mentions fair game in the political season?

MR. McCLELLAN: Terry, I think -- I know that that's a way to try to draw us into a Democratic primary that is ongoing.

Interesting that Terry Moron fell into your trap.

Many many thanks for your service to our country today.

WOW! Feel better? I do and may I second your sentiments?

I did not see John F*ing Kerry throwing out a baseball after 9/11, nor did I see him at Ground Zero with that fireman letting the world know we will no longer treat terrorism with the seriousnesses of someone shoplifting a candy bar. The man I saw, respect and admire for true courage during one of the blackest periods of American history is the Commander and Chief, George Bush. I want him to stay at this helm and continue to guide us.

...you don't even come close to the instability displayed by Al Gore in HIS rants...

LOL! Sometimes I wish I could. As I said, sometimes a perverse side of me kicks in when I see all the carping and moaning and complaining from the side of the political isle that supposed to contain the President's friends and supporters.

Fantastic! Thank you so much for bringing this up. Now the press has no excuse for continuing their game. You have broached the subject.

Feel better?

Grin — actually, I'll only feel better once Dubya is safely re-elected. Until then, I'm on the warpath and don't intend to pull any punches.

Since you get called on everyday...could you please pose a question(more like a statement)?

Q...Does the administration plan to ask Terry McAwful, DNC,and Kerry to apologize to all the Guardsmen, Reservists and families for their statements inferring that serving in the Guard is not military service?

I ask this because my husband and I were insulted by these remarks, he is serving in Iraq and a member of the Guard...he's been gone almost 15mos.

It was so funny, we had the TV on & My Mom is spouting off exactly what you said, as she has been doing for days...asking why doesn't someone ask those questions.

Then she hears your questions & she comes rushing out of the kitchen asking WHO IS THAT and WHO DOES HE WORK FOR?

Great Job!

You have it exactly right.

Have just about decided to turn off conservative radio, have long given up all TV, even FNC.

The civilized world is depending on our president and we find the need to climb onto his shoulders as well.

We ought to be lifting him up in prayer not berating him for not doing things 'our' way.
